Splash Damage Q & A: Answers To 8 Questions

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 9:55 am

The Brink Forum received it's Q & A back from Splash Damage's Richard Ham today, with answers to 8 questions (9 actually, but I don't count the release date answer since they announced it two days or so after I submitted the questions to them )

WHAT THE...They are not planning to release the preorder bonuses as DLC later? Wow. I am glad I bought 3 different preorder packs. I just hope Amazon doesn't screw me on the Psycho Pack/Caeser Revolver.

Eh, these were awful questions in my opinion. Only the radar one gave me information I didn't already know, but doesn't concern me at all. Rest of them are already known/obvious.

Yeah, I'm getting worried that Amazon might end up *ing me over, in the end, and really hope they release a Collector's edition that includes all 4 packs just so I can get my Psycho outfit from EBGames or BBuy instead :)

Although if need be, I might just order from Amazon, buy it in store at EBGames, and when I finally have received my code by email, return the strill shrinked Amazon copy to EBG, and maybe even end up with two codes instead of just one... Would that be bad? :ninja:

Interesting enough. Wonder how some of that will work for the competitive side.

It'd be cool to own the Caesar or Hockler, but I don't think you'll be at a disadvantage if you don't get the respective packs, and vice versa.

"Right now, there are no plans to release them to the wider player base after the game ships, so if you want to be sure to get them, pre-order now! :D"

This is a typical sales pitch. They will most likely be opened up to everyone at some point.

We originally sent in 33 of 60+ questions. They chose which of those to answer. I really wish they would have not chosen the release date question considering it had already been announced. That was kind of lame. But as I've said before, they still have my gratitude.

It's about what I personally like. For me, it's not just about strategizing and outkilling/objective accomplishing the enemy. It is about using the guns you love while you do it. I really like the Caeser. The idea of only being able to have it on the Xbox, and even then only if Amazon doesn't fail me, annoys me.

Because some people like specific guns, and if they were able to own those guns in the game, it would make them happy. I like revolvers.

Should've asked more informed users what to ask to send in, instead of already known ones, which would have kept less choice of bad questions. It's obvious they'd select questions we already know, makes it seem they are being more in contact with community, without having to release information.

I'm inclined to believe what Nail (@ the SD forums) suggested, which is that they chose the questions they were "allowed" to answer.

That radar-thing is really nice. I wonder if Silent Footsteps does only counter the radar-blip, though, or if it removes your movement-sounds entirely.

"Downed Fire" might still be very powerful, considering a heavy could just use an assault rifle with it.

Interesting enough. Wonder how some of that will work for the competitive side.

No "Comms Hack"! No "Silent Running"! Final Destination.

My worry is that it cancels out the sound for the user of the ability, I like to hear my footsteps and it feels weird when I can tell I'm jumping, sliding, vaulting but cant hear anything.
