Split-Screen Offline Multiplayer???

Post » Thu Nov 25, 2010 1:22 pm

So I was just wondering, will Crysis 2 have a split-screen offline mode where you can fight your friends on one Playstation, like in Call of Duty and Halo?

I hope they do the same for PC if they do it on consoles. No reason to even bother with controller support if they don't keep split screen on PC.

I heard they ditched the idea to focus on the rest of the game, but I havnt heard of a game that has online MP without splitscreen. as for PC having splitscreen, no dice. no game has done that to my knowledge, pretty much no reason

left 4 dead 1/2 has splitscreen :) (admittedly via a simple console command)

If a console version has it, i think pc should have the choice of it too if the game supports controllers :)

if they do splitscreen, i hope they do it like halo were you could play splitscreen in matchmaking. it would make it more fun if your friends came over and played with you instead of taking turns to play.

Crysis 2 was said to not have split-screen because a single console cannot handle the computational effects of two inputs and outputs along with rendering different parts of the map and fire fights at the same time, so instead of gutting the CryEngine 3 to allow it, they decided to ditch the idea.

Thats a shame, split screen is a big selling point for me and my friends because we like to get together regularly and play shooters together against one another

A oline coop mode instead like Ucharted2 would be nice and a big reason i still play Uncharted2 after getting all the tropy`s and challenges.

that would be sick, i said earlier i use my console as a party game half the time, and crysis would be a much better game to use than coD 4 which is definantly getting old

the reason i wanted the split-screen was exactly that so that i could play my friends when they came over, not having to be in different locations.... does anyone know what the real answer is???

I would indeed also accept online co-op and in fact i'd love you big time for it. It's nicer to work with others without constantly having to deal with intense gunfights with good players :P sometimes you just want to sit back and pop some heads mindlessly y'know? :D

online Co-op WILL be a work for modder!
Crytek will never add co op to any Crysis!
i think all the Crysis will be a shooter where you play alone
without support of others (only on some points)
so you cant play it together
custom maps are better for Co-op

It doesn't need to be built into, or even linked to, the campaign though!

The glittering diamond among the turd which was spec-ops in mw2 proved that simple co-op missions are just plain epic when done correctly, and if crytek did the same they'd secure twice as many sales of the boot if they mention it in marketing.

no i think thats just showing the 2 different pictures of the 3d rendered frame separately.
but I cant say they wont have splitscreen, because cry-tom didn't confirm or deny it to me.
