Splitting the Elder Scrolls story?

Post » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:07 pm

OK, It's now considered common knowledge that we can choose to join either the Stormcloaks (rebels) or the Imperials (empire). By joining one of these factions and helping their cause prevail and defeat the opposing faction, would that not compromise the consistency of future Elder Scrolls games? I'm explaining this in a wierd way as I am really tired, sorry.

By the time The Elder Scrolls VI comes out the history will already be written into the game, Bethesda will have to decide which faction actually won for them to make any reference to it in ESVI.

So basically, with there being 2 different options for how the world will become (Imperials or Stormcloaks prevailing) which faction will Bethesda decide has won when it comes to making the next game, because they're obviously going to make reference to the happenings of TES V is some way or another.

Thanks for reading my jumbled up mess of a OP. :)

I thought about this too but they have done it once before in Arena (or was it Daggerfall?) where they had the 'dragon break' and all possible outcomes occurred or something like that.

Perhaps a new game plus is included...

I seriously doubt it though, I'm inclined to lean to the quoted opinion.

Perhaps for the next game, they could just have diverting lore.

One for if you chose Stormcloaks, one for if you chose Empire.

I don't know, just brainstorming, lol.

didnt they say although you can choose sides you cant really alter the outcome of the war? ill bet that by the end of the main quest both factions end up royally screwed or in exactly the same place they started.
