*Spoiler* Big problem with the Outcast

Post » Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:08 pm

Hi, I have an annoying problem with the outcast...
Today, after many hours of gameplay (I'm lv 30, Good alignment, have to go to vault 87 in the main quest, many locations visited, almost all skills to 100), I passed through the Fairfax ruins for the first time in this game.
I explored it, visited dungeons related, killed all the enclave around, I saw BY FAR 2 oucasts + robot fighting with something but as I said I was far and couldn't help... When I finished exploring I went back and I discovered the fort indipendence... I DIDN'T ENTER at all in any way, didn't even get too near, but I was near enough to see 2 red signals in my radar, corresponding to a guard near a trench and a static turret....
I saved and with my rifle I killed him... A message appeared with the normal stealth bonus naming him "Defender Morgan" and I lost karma... I said... wtf?????
I recharged and tried to approach her normally, she immediatly attacked me, with the turret aswell, no track of any robot (the one I saw before), no corpses around, NO CASDIN ANYWHERE......

SO what's going on???

I have F3 full with DLCs (so Anchorage too installed, but I completed none till now, I'm waiting to finish the primary quest line to start making DLCs quests), I tried to wait 3 days at home, when I come back she's still hostile and still no Casdin there.....

Help :(((((

Well, as I recall correctly, there is an occassional hic up in the game coding that makes the Outcasts a little unfriendly, if you have it on PC, try resetting your faction alignment with them.

Little unfriendly enough to get my ass filled by their bullets.. XD

Well, then I suppose to be lucky, because yes I play F3 on the pc....

But I have no idea how to reset the faction...

Reading the forum I found this:

open console with ~ key then type
player.removefromfaction 33089
hit enter then type
clearfactionplayerenemyflag 1d3ff
hit enter then type
clearfactionplayerenemyflag 30520
hit enter then type
setally 1b2a4, 1d3ff, 30520 00

As long as everything is done right all outcasts should become friendly again. Hope this helps ;)

But before applying it I would like to know which factions are 33089 and 30520 and which factions/npc are 1b2a4 and 1d3ff... And I wanna also be sure that this solution doesn't make all of the outcasts friendly, but just the important ones (as it should normally be).

Why not just leave the area, wait three days, and go back? I've had this problem on 360, and leaving and waiting and returning did the trick.

I did this.. Wasn't able to solve anything.
Also tried with the commands Kill, Resurrect, Disable, Enable, the console says that Morgan picks a dialogue with the player, but actually she starts back to shoot my ass...

PS: Anybody can type me a link for a complete list of IDs (form and ref) of everything? Or maybe I can find them in the geck? For everything I mean quests (with the various passages), factions, npcs, skills, items etc etc

I have a similar problem with the ones at the Outpost. After I looted the room after completing Anchorage they freaked out, mowing down Specialist Olin before turning on me. :gun:
I waited several game days but they're still homicidal. I'm on 360 BTW.

Thats actually supposed to happen. If you listen to their dialogue, one of them is disgruntled that you are just able to take some of "their" tech and so he and the rest of the outcasts stage a coup against Protector Mcgraw and attack you. It shouldn't affect your standing with any other outcasts though.

Nobody that can find me out a list of IDs or at least which IDs are the ones in the script above?

In particular these ones

player.removefromfaction 33089
setally 1b2a4

That are written only 1 time in the script, the removed faction is not re-entered to re-make a possible ally, while 1b2a4 wasn't removed/cleared and is being added (probably for the first time?)... That's why I would like to identify these IDs.

I can't help with your question but can point out that them being hostile shouldn't really affect your game play. I think you can do Anchorage even if they're hostile, and you really can't interact with them beyond trading tech for ammo at the fort.

They're a bit too defensive of Ft. Independence anyway, IMO. There's nothing in there worth dying for. . .

This is just 1 more crap to add to my collection of bugs/errors/troubles......
After hundreds of ingame hours I am collecting every kind of possible bullsh*t of the game, this is pissing me off...
I just wish to correct the ones I can correct and play a NORMAL WAY as nothing ever happened, I cannot just restart a new save to see all the features the game is burning up.... It's just too long....
Yes it's true I can just skip this part... and what else? How many gameplay parts I'll have to skip more? This is became just a matter of principle, I'm sick and tired of finding bugs and losing contents, that's not what I (and anybody else like me) deserve for losing sooo many time on this game.

Check here for some info http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fort_Independence

You could try tcai command, toggle combat AI. Not sure if thats a good solution for you but they should stop attacking you.

Yeah I reloaded, listened to the dialogue, and realized this. :tops:
