I thought from the E3 footage that it started with you looking in the mirror and creating your characters face, supposedly as you are getting ready to 'knock 'em dead at the veterans hall tonight'.

Well, typically you select it in your game library and you press the 'Play' button.

If the E3 demo is exactly that, it's just you going about your daily life before your life get's ruined forever...or for the better, depending on your mindset as you the player.

You turn your PC/console on and launch the game. Usually how most games start.

It goes like:

"Life is awesome! I have a loving spouse, a son and everything is jus-ZOMG NUKES! RUN TO THE VAULT!"

It would be nice if, lets say, you were on a bus, asleep, and the guy sitting next to you is trying to wake you up. He tells you, "Hey man, I think this is you stop. Don't keep the wife and kid waiting." Your basically returning from a tour of duty. Maybe that is why your giving a speech later.

I hate windows 8 too but I gotta deal with it since it came with my asus. and haven't you watched the E3 gameplay? it shows how it starts. I would suggest you watch it on youtube, they introduce the fallout shelter game too on it.

Having only played F3 and FNV I thought it was the best start of the three. The others did not make you grasp the history of the Fallout Universe in quite the same way.
