(Spoiler) Institute Missions after finishing the main quest

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2016 12:08 am

*This post could propably spoil your game experience, so if you haven't finished the main quest so far please don't keep reading*

I've decided to be on the institute side, even though I love the brotherhood of steel since i've played fallout tactics I had a hard time destroying everything my son created knowing he was dying.

And thats it.. I've destryoed the BoS ship, I've killed all of that railroaders and now, that I'm the director of the institute I can't do much, just a few side quests and thats about it!

There's a few things I would love to see:

I liked that if we could recruit 5 synths and wipe out a raiders settlement. Just yesterday I found a factory, full of dead raiders with a lot of synths roaming around, why wasn't I informed? After all, i'm the director!

I liked that we could build institute alike walls in our settlements, institute waterpumps, institute generators, lamps, fences..

I liked that we could have a institute power armor that looked like a freakin' giant synth instead of just having an institute paint job

This isn't a critic or anything I love the game and this are just a few things I would like that could be part of the fallout experience, thank you!

Spoiler
Go to institute, go to advanced systems or SRB, I forget which one they are at. Pick up synth relay grenades, leave institute, go to said raider establishment, use synth relay grenades, synths recruited. However they are pretty under powered and will die quickly.

Unfortunately, Beth doesn't have a great resume in post-MQ content in any of their games. FO4 is much better than what they did before in this field, but it still lacks a lot.

If you are on PC and don't mind using mods, some of things you want can be solved via these mods:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478/? - Beth is adding new settlement stuff in patches and will add some more in the Wasteland Workshop DLC, and maybe sometime they will add build-able Institute stuff. Until then, you can use the Homemaker mod which adds a GREAT deal of stuff, including Institute stuff for Institute-aligned players.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6485/? - Synth Relay Grenades in the game are fun and allow you to hold a small army in a "pokeball", but are still lacking. This mod allows you to summon squads of Synths and choose which Synths you want to summon (Gen1, Gen2, Gen3, Coursers or even a Synth in Institute X-01 Power Armor)

After finishing the MQ, you can buy those grenades at the vendor. The Synths summoned are weak individually, but you can summon many of them.

However, you can buy unlimited amounts at Requisitions. They respawn in groups of 30 there.

They're under powered for a pretty good reason. I've got about 200 in total right now. Since there's no limit to spawning them, you can zerg rush your enemies with gobs of synths wherever you go.

Best weapon in the game really. There's nothing like watching a group of raiders get overwhelmed with Gen-1 Synths while you sit back and watch.

Really? IMHO Skyrim was better post MQ. In Skyrim you still had all radiant quest givers ( guilds ) , plus tons of side quests. In FO4 you loose at least one faction including quest givers, and you run out of non MQ related sidequests much faster.

However, in the other thread there are already lots of suggestions for better post MQ game experience. Maybe Beth pick some up ;)

This is why after I beat the game with the institute I reloaded my save back before I could pick and did a peace ending.

There ending svcked for me it was boring to have everyone dead.

Also would have been nice to take over there base instead of blowing it up.

Kill everyone inside and use the base why must we nuke it-.-

There are Institute radiant quests in the game. Each division will have a scientist looking for you to do tasks. These are quite simple and can get boring after a while, but it's something to do while you're waiting for the post-launch content.
