(Spoiler) Mass Fusion

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:19 pm

I'm at a point in my quests where both liberty reprimed and mass fusion are on my current quests list. In Liberty Reprimed, I have to talk to Proctor Ingram. This is the objective before I have to start collecting parts for the Liberty Prime Project. In Mass Fusion, I have to either inform the Brotherhood (side with BoS) by talking to Proctor Ingram or relay to Mass Fusion (side with Institute). I wish to side with the Institute for this playthrough, and it will act as my main playthrough for searching doing various side quests after the storyline missions end. At the same time, I wish to receive and do Blind Betrayal in order to eventually get Paladin Danse's perk before siding with the Institute. As I have currently interpreted things, I have to finish Liberty Reprimed before being given Blind Betrayal. However, when I talk to Proctor Ingram, my character is forced to tell her about the beryllium agitator before even given a choice of what I want to do. And even after finished talking about the beryllium agitator and being given the quest Spoils of War, Proctor Ingram will not talk to be about Liberty Reprimed, even if I insist that she does not accompany me.

I have done at least a dozen side quests before getting back to the main storyline and realizing that I had this problem. I don't want to revert to a previous save if possible. Is there any way to do Liberty Prime before having to do Mass Fusions (which locks me to a faction) or am I screwed? Or is there a way to just assign myself Blind Betrayal? I am on PC. I have tried resetquest and completequest to no avail. I've tried some things with setstage but not extensively. I think my best chance would be to skip past any objectives (using setstage) in Liberty Reprimed that involve talking to Proctor Ingram and hoping for the best.

Please feel free to correct me on anything that I get wrong. The main thing I'm not sure about is when Blind Betrayal is assigned. At this point, I am fairly certain I have well more than enough affinity with Danse for him to be at max affinity, excluding the quest requirement. I assume that Blind Betrayal must be given either directly after Liberty Reprimed or the quest after that one, if there is one.

I can see how this escalated your quests. The quest giver on the institute side is someone who you don't regularly deal with. Proctor Ingram, however, is the go-to quest giver on the BoS side. I think you're stuck with your results now. If you have an earlier save, go back and do the BoS quests first. Up until you have the choice of telling the institute what they're planning. This will allow you to do the Blind Betrayal quest with Danse.

Just a note though. Even if you do the Blind Betrayl Quest, Danse will no longer talk to you afterwards because you side with the institute.

you do not, there is nothing you can do, Blind betrayal only occiurs after you have 100% sided with the BoS, each faction has a companion that only they can use, and once you go against that faction they are aut0matically not your companion and you have to kill them.

Even IF it was possible to do blind betrayal before that, you STILL would have to kill him.

I was able to do this mission before siding with the Institute. One faction does get wiped out prior to this though.. That being said, Danse refuses to speak to me now.

really? huh, still, being teh BoS faction Companion (which is odd, since...if you have him as your comp, you are attacked on sight by the BoS), the point still stands, you cannot have him as a comp and be a part of the institute, so the OP is out of luck.

Had the same problem. I'm ok with BoS but also with Institute and preferred not to have Liberty Prime walking about uncontrolled. Had to reload a save of 24 hours of playtime before !

If you're on PC you may try console commands to attempt to further Liberty Reprimed, or possibly Blind Betrayal. It's probably possible to simply give yourself the perk as well, though less interesting gameplay

He just wants his perk, doesn't want him as a companion.

Yup, exactly this. I'll go ahead and try skipping the objectives in Liberty Reprimed that require talking to Proctor Ingram and see how that pans out. If I'm desperate/dedicated enough, I might revert to a way earlier save where those two quests in combination haven't been assigned yet. The main thing I'll be missing out on is the coveted two shot gauss rifle that I found, which probably won't be worth losing just to get my faction of choice. Worst case scenario is I'm just stuck with the BoS since I value the perk pretty highly.
