*Spoiler possibly* Why is Butch even a follower! >:(

I mean did any of you even escape the vault without shooting him? I hate butch even if you do get him as a follower he dies almost instantly. I remember I was in Adams air force base
Even with power armor and a strong weapon he kept dying I had to keep loading the game over and over and over. Any way It's weird that the guy that picks on you since you were a kid is a companion yet Amata who helps you escape the vault and has been friend with the player forever isn't. Am I the only one who hates butch and which one would you prefer to be a follower
(me I hate both of them) :flame:

Personally I've never used Butch as a follower as his starting weapons svck (a 10mm pistol and a switchblade) compared to companions such as Jericho and Clover or even RL-3 who would trounce him if they fought one on one. So yes I would agree with you that he is basically a worthless companion but I would also argue that there is no need to remove him from the list of followers, If any thing fallout 3 could use more followers.

He is a follower so you can hear his most satisfying dying screams for help.

I like Butchie (I call him Butchie because it annoys him). His tales of dragons really entertain me when he's dressed up in skimpy Raider armor and a bonnet. What, I'm the only one who punishes her followers?

LOL. No, me too. Try Jericho in a wig, or even better, the Wasteland Scout uniform from that kid in PL.

Butch is a pretty weak companion, but I think he was added as a way of saying "Ok this guy bullied you as a kid but now he can be your friend". Plus he's the only reasonably attractive male companion, so he's great for roleplaying as a boyfriend companion the way Clover is a girlfriend companion, especially if your character is female as Butch will flirt with you.

Also I don't undertsand why people hate Butch so much. You can easily put him in his place and whip his and his buddies asses even as a kid. Most real-life bullies are far worse then Butch anyway, I don't see how anybody could take him seriously as a bully...

well i think its because Butch represent the vault dwellers (or people from the vault, duh) you see the essence of fo3 followers are being one of their kind or faction, like Fawkes when it comes to SP, RL in terms of robots etc.

Personally i don't choose him as a follower, he's a pain in the @ss and whines a lot, someone who makes a good mirv practice :gun:
