*SPOILER* The Brotherhood of Steel #2

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 2:18 pm

What? No one agreed with Lyons. People were getting effectively exiled to [censored] jobs like the Library duty because of it.

Even Rothchild, Lyons best friend, says hes not the person to ask about Lyons because he believes Lyons wouldn't like what he had to say.

Spoiler
Well, that would explain the name of the Brotherhood's airship. I'm half expecting him to have a unique weapon named Excalibur.

What I wonder about are all thoses wasteland recruits in the BOS that by the end of the game probably outnumber the original brotherhood members.

They are

Spoiler
still in the BoS. And the Maxson BoS, as I guess we could call it now, still openly recruits people from the wasteland population.

Yet they don't defend them? Why would wastelanders willingly join then?

I've been thinking. Couldn't the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 4 just be the Commonwealth Chapter and mostly unrelated to the CW and MW Chapters?

I haven't read the spoilers by the way. I'm just here to take a break from trying to force time to move faster with my mind.

play'n the Brotherhood began on the West coast and we've never heard of a chapter moving to Boston before so I doubt it could be.

Also I'd be careful trying to move time like that. I did that for Fallout 3, overshot it and had to buy a year after release :)

I see. What I know of the Brotherhood can be summed up as "They are the most spread out faction in the wasteland and most of them are dikes".

I guess researching their history would be a good alternative way to make the time pass, considering your warnings.

Thanks for that by the way.

Power armor, decent living conditions, the chance to fly in VTOL craft, and to have a bunch of other power armored guys always watching your back.

Even though the BoS doesn't technically actively defend wastelanders, their operations against the Super Mutants still made the CW a safer place. It's natural that people would eventually seek to join them. The reason wolves became domesticated dogs was because they developed a mutually beneficial relationship with humans; the wolves gained security in human communities and the humans gained effective hunting partners.

I kind of hope they do bring the Vault Dweller from 101 in Fallout 3. In DAI they brought Hawke from DA2 for a few quests, why not bring him as a possible ally during the Brotherhood Of Steel questline in Fallout 4.

Dragon Age also had a save important system, Fallout does not.

True, but it was an online program through Dragon Age's website called the "Keep" that you choose the choices from previous games on and import that data to DAI. Fallout 4 does not have that ability true, the default BOS questline could include you the player working with the Vault Dweller on a mission or two and later he could become a companion.

I suppose we will see for sure within the next few days after release if the Vault Dweller is included in the BOS questline.

Another somewhat big spoiler

Spoiler
I recalled seeing a weird symbol on the PA suit of one of the BoS soldiers I saw in some leaked pics/stream, going through the Fallout Gamepedia, I realized this logo looked like the logo of the Brotherhood outcasts, perhaps hinting that Arthur reunified the two groups after he took over

I figured that they'd reconcile after Arthur Maxson became Elder.

Just so you know...

The person that came out of Vault 101 while technically could be called a vault dweller, he/she is not The Vault Dweller (who came out of Vault 13, saved the wasteland and was the ancestor of the Chosen One).

The protagonist in Fallout is the Vault Dweller.

The protagonist in Fallout 2 is the Chosen One.

The protagonist in Fallout Tactics is the Warrior.

The protagonist in Fallout BoS is at best a joke and should be forgotten (if you were ever unfortunate enough to play the game, he/she was called the Initiate).

The protagonist in Fallout 3 is the Lone Wanderer.

The protagonist in Fallout NV is the Courier.

The Chosen One, Warrior and Initiate (sigh) were not dwellers. The Courier probably was not a dweller. The others were and typically on the the first is called Vault Dweller.

Definitely the East Coast BoS in Fallout 4.

Spoiler
It's now led by Elder Arthur Maxson, the 20 year old wonder kid and youngest Elder ever (evlbastrd's head just exploded as he blew a gasket). Liberty Prime is back, and the BoS ending for Fallout 4 is almost exactly the same as the ending for Fallout 3.
