*SPOILER* The Brotherhood of Steel #2

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 7:59 am

With the old thread almost reaching it's post limit, I felt it neccesary we continue this discussion in a new thread.
Use this thread to discuss speculation about the Brotherhood of Steel.

Also..

If it is Arthur Maxson will you join him in his goals?

If it isnt will you still join up with the BoS?

How large do you think their force is? From what we've seen it can't be too huge

As brought up in the previous thread, do you think good ol' 101 will be with the Brotherhood?

Well, is Arthur Maxson fighting for the betterment of the Wasteland and Boston? Or is he just a raiding party? Given the overall altruism attributed to the Lyons faction, I'd stick with him as a necessary evil. Even if it isn't him, I trust the CWBoS to hold to the Lyons Doctrine; if I find them wanting and clearly just a pillaging force a la West Coast BoS... then, no.

-

Given this is their third, this one will be bigger than the previous two. To be honest, the armament they seem to have and the dedication makes it sound like a crusade; and humans don't **** around with crusades.

-

I think 101 will be mentioned and establish a "better" canon ending. There's no way the CWBoS could recover and mount three expeditions if the Citadel was destroyed.

From the other thread:

^ I can see this. Though they didn't part on the best of terms, the friendship and respect between Li and the Lyons family seemed to run pretty deep.

Huh. I completely forgot about Dr. Li. Maybe she'll play a part in the story.

Everything and everyone related to the death of Enclave personnel in Fallout 3 will be destroyed and possibly everyone that they have connexion to just for added spite. Thus is the basis of my first playthrough of Fallout 4 as Colonel Alan Sutler.

Hmm, that does seem like a valid speculation for doctor li. Perhaps she contacted them through a distress signal or to tell the state of boston was currently.

Colonel Alan Sutler, famous for suggesting that Colonel Autumn wear some sort of armor to the Purifier and being assured "the heroes would win."

Fight on, brave soldiers of America!

How are you going to roleplay as Sutler given the background that bethesda gives us on our character?

Honestly old sport I just ignore the dialogue that's being said.

As long as the in-game outcome reflects what I want then what was actually said is ultimately irrelevant and if I have to do things I don't want then I'll rush through them and continue as before. I'll be spending most of the game out of dialogue obviously, head-canon can sustain the rest.

You say that but the LW does effectively have a pretty cushty and well earned position in Lyon's BoS all worked out.

Why would he move on when he is basicly elite/leader status with the BoS by the end of fallout 3? Seems a bit unlikely to me

Ah, ah... he is a member of the Pride by the end of the game, though. Only Star Paladin's get to do as they please. If he's still with the BoS, he's under Sarah's command (or perhaps takes her position as head of the Pride if she ascended to Elder; though I'd imagine Cross would).

Because Bethesda loves the "vanished off into the sunset" ending for their characters.

Its what happened to every single one of them in TES, except the hero of Daggerfall who was crushed by the Numidium.

I thought he was just a Knight who was sent to fetch cameras after Broken Steel?

To be fair, isn't the gap between TES games much bigger? So, the into the sunset bit is much easier to play; whereas a single decade for the effects of the LW is a bit of a push. Speaking frankly, I'd like to hear of a greater conflict placing him somewhere else. With his/her/our interfering with the Pitt, this seems right up his/her/our alley.

He was actually a Paladin and was a member of the highest ranking force in the CWBoS the Lyons pride.

No. TES 1-4 all took place in a 30 year time span.

Morrowind was only 6 years before Oblivion

That is true, I can imagine Bethesda not wanting to ruin other people canon by giving as much as the gender of the Lone Wanderer away in Fallout 4.

Oblivion was only four years after Morrowind, but the Nerevarine had already gone off to Akavir or whatever by the time the events of Oblivion took place. Of course, that might have been just a way to explain why he wasn't actively trying to stop the daedric invasion.

Right, right. So, hopefully they give us a hint of a conflict the LW is handling; otherwise, he/she exists as a ghost that could come in and rewrite the game. If he/she is a Cyborg (perk), that would give him/her way more reason to get involved.

More likely he's fixed Mothership Zeta and left to find a better planet or find the aliens and wipe them out so they can't ever threaten earth again.

Mod idea, have the Mysterious Stranger dressed in an armored vault 101 jump suit.

Well, I don't think it is Arthur Maxson, and I intend to join regardless because they are most definitely against androids. I still hope it is MWBoS. I do find it funny that before we ever saw an airship many anti-BoS folks would post how it was "impossible" to "nearly impossible" for the BoS to ever have built Airships, and now it is "common knowledge among all BoS chapters"(there used to be a lot of anti FOT talk about how certain things couldn't be canon).

Which is dumb. Official canon is better in the long run. Time for people to grow up and realize their toon from 7 years ago isn't "canon".

*head tilt*

Wait, it's literal lore that the WCBoS are capable of building airships or otherwise have the plans and found existing ones; given the size and complexity of the MW expedition, there is utterly no way they wouldn't send along weapon and ship schematics. To say nothing of them getting the Calculator up and running and building!

With the becomes-the-CW-BoS expedition, I imagine them to be even better equipped. :unsure2:

We've previously discussed that... *top of my head* we gave the gender for the Vault Dweller in NV.(?)
