its from data mined from the pipboy app, as well as every location, how many quests there are, and a number of other things.

Wasteland doesn't age people up that much, plenty of folks who look their age, even growing up around the harsh conditions of the CW and not having the luxury of the BoS. I don't know why people are so gung ho about Arthur Maxson "leading" the BoS at 20. It isn't gonna happen. Look at reality, he probably couldn't even fit in a suit of PA until he was 17, which means he has had about 2-3 years of combat "experience" and by that time the Enclave and SM probably long driven from the CW. They not gonna send him out in underroos to fight, Maxson's have a bad history of not being in PA and getting killed.
Arthur Maxson may very well be in the game, but it doesn't make sense for that guy to be him. I would place that guy at 30-35.
Why couldn't he just be some random warlord recruited by the Capital Wasteland brotherhood? Why can't his speech have been anything said by anyone?
Could be. A man can have some hope, as slim a chance as it is, like I said.
Maybe the fellow in the trailer was good old 101. He'd be close to 30 by now.
Oh God I hope that is true so I kill him. Maybe that's why they're being so hush about it.
like 79 years before Fo3, 89 years before Fo4
As far as I am concerned the Brotherhood of Steel is moving up from the Capital to investigate rumours of these "androids" which weren't exactly secret in Fallout 3 (even the slavers knew of them). Maybe they see the Institute creating artificial, sentient persons and decide that this is the mis-use of tech which they were created to prevent. Would fit in with the BoS guy talking about saving humankind from themselves IMO.
I still don't think that the MWBoS will have anything to do with this. Airships themselves were not built by the MWBoS but for them by the WCBoS, Airship knowledge is common to the entire organisation. And now we have a ten year time-frame to work with instead of the "months" nay-sayers kept saying about Lyon's lot not having enough time to build an Airship, now they do.
for anyone who wants to know a bit about the BoS's involvement in The Commonwealth
You sure you want to know?
Really sure?
The BoS expedition currently in The Commonwealth is apparently the third one. The first one was apparently a major success, and recovered tons of tech and historical documents. and The second one vanished without a trace after they lost contact. The third one is apparently there to look for tech also, as well as find out what happened to the second group, and find out what The Institute is doing.
Nope, never saw or heard anyone mention what branch they were from.
So now we know and knowing is half the battle!
Well assuming the stuff in the spoiler tag actually reveals anything I didn't read it just saw a shtick opening
It's either him or some random "look who we found in the Wastes, what a hero!" guy that worked his way up; that is, there is no BoS member I can think of that matches his character.

The more important question is how the BoS will pay for their wanton destruction of Enclave property and treason.
