SPOILERS Fallout 4 Achievements SPOILERS

I 100% guarantee that the PC is not an android. Having such a ridiculous storyline wouldn't even make any sense. Everyone in Vault 111 was cryogenically frozen, and clearly your spouse and child were taken out of the vault long before you wake up. You meet up with both of them at different times, and they are a lot older than when you last saw them. All the evidence to support this is right in front of us.

How do the achievements make our androidhood "obvious"? I see some stuff about family, super science, and yes, androids. But nothing that sticks out as "oh snap, I was an android the whooole time!"

Where did I say that in the quote exactly? Why you put words in my mouth? Did you even wash them first?

Washed with bleach, of course. So then, what's the obvious thing you're talking about, that's going over my head? I figured you were talking about androids from the context of what you quoted.

Spoiler
What I see are two quests in the main quest that have something to do with our family, Reunions and Nuclear Family. Hunter/Hunted is probably about androids. The quest achievements that follow the "Join this faction" achievements seem, to me, to indicate that faction questlines are separate from the main quest like the Civil War in Skyrim, and not mutually exclusive. So it looks like the main quest isn't about androids, but there's still a questline with the Railroad dedicated to android liberation.

Also, Rocket's Red Glare looks like the quest where we blow up an airship. If my guesses are close, it's a Railroad quest. Curious.

I for one embrace the spoilers. It's a BGS game and furthermore, I take this as a part of the experience of waiting. Oh, and I really expected an average story, so not hyped around that at all. The world is what gets me going. :)

Sometimes I just say I'm assuming just to see if someone will assume what I'm assuming. (Come on it's lonely in my little cubical. I need some human interaction.)

But seriously (well more on topic anyway) I really see way too much android stuff in the achievements. To me this isn't an Empire vs. Stormcloaks kind of choice. Androids are machines and if a machine breaks, doesn't do what the creator wants it to, you tear it down and try again (or not). Not really keen on the whole "are they alive" crap.

I expect nothing less than [censored] the plot of this game, so I looked it all.

Fortunately, no stupid achievement related to level with karma or useless collectibles.

Oh, do you like New Vegas? Then you will be disappointed.

Spoiler
Seemingly, no multiple endings for various factions.

Well for me the story was spoiled by BGS themselves with their e3 demo. A few folks took the 'sole survivor' bait too easily, but most of us figured out the most plausible scenario. The harm is already done, but it doesn't really matter because it's not like this could ever have been a huge 'would you kindly' level of end-game twist. I'm most looking forward to the nuances in the story (can't believe I just said that in a BGS forum ).

Spoiler
Well there are the ones for collecting bobble-heads and magazines. But those aren't totally useless I guess.

The achievements I've never really liked are one's you are basically force to do X and reload in order to achieve. Skyrim was full of these which is why after 1500+ hours here are some that I'll never get cause achievements are not important enough to me for me to do them.

So there's achievements for joining a faction. I wonder if joining a faction locks you out of the others, like the Legion/Stormcloak choice in Skyrim.

I certainly hope so. Being Master of All in Skyrim made it all just feel so cheap. Especially when you could join a faction and their leader within a week.

I'd be okay with lockouts if they made sense from a story perspective, like the Great Houses or Fighters/Thieves Guild in Morrowind, but if they have nothing to do with each other then there's no damn reason we shouldn't be allowed to join them all. And I doubt we'll be able to become the de facto leaders of any of the factions, Elder Scrolls style. Particularly not the Brotherhood of Steel.

If you could be from the Institute and railroad same time game will have a Great problem. I am definitely going pro institute since I helped them in F3 with Harness. I hardly doubt you could be an Android it just sound cheap to me. A copy of the Harness new memory reproduction.

Judging from the achievements, there's no option to join the Institute :/

Might be hinting that they're going to be the bad guys of the game...

It makes no sense that a single person can be an effective leader of more than one faction, regardless of whether or not the factions are related. Course the whole leadership thing in Skyrim was a joke anyway as all you really did was become the number one gopher for the whole faction. Hell I should be the one sending people out on quests and giving orders. I think BG2 thieves guild did it best really.

It's still possible you could side with them during the main questline. The quest achievements for Dawnguard or the Civil War never cared about who you sided with, and none of the quest achievements in Fallout 3 cared about whether you completed the quest as a hero or villain. Worst-case scenario, we get one chance to side with them Enclave-style at the climactic main quest decision. Best case scenario, we can side with them as soon as we meet up with them and take an evil path for every step of the main quest.

I get a headache just imagining all the paperwork/management from leading just one faction... several would be a nightmare.

Well i do agree the timeframe for becoming leader was a bit strange, but afterall you are the dragonborn there so its a wonder they didnt make you high king:)

I mean if history is anything to judge from last dragonborn aorund did become an emperor and the 9th devine afterall so a mere multiple faction leader/thane semms kinda insulting in comparison:)

From the Steam page:

"Join multiple factions vying for power or go it alone, the choices are all yours"

Will be interesting to see if we can join all three named factions at the same time in order to take on the Institute, and also to see how they each interact.

Well if the multiple factions are "vying for power" then I assume you only join one. Joining two or more that are fighting themselves wouldn't make much sense. Course there is that one achievement....
