Spoilers: Some new perks

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:45 am

Note: These are taken from translations

Strength 10: Pain Train - Choo, choo! All aboard! If you're wearing a power armor, sprint towards enemies to hurt them and make them lose balance (robots and huge enemies won't lose balance).

Perception 7: Reflector - You're like a mirror! Get instant +10 resistance to energy.

Intelligence 9: Nuclear physicist - You learned how to divide the atom... and how to dominate it. Radiation weapons cause 50% more damage and fusion cores last 25% longer.

Endurance 9: Ghoul - Sure, you're still human ... on the outside! Now regenerate lost health with radiation.

DISAPPOINTED and here I thought that Lvl 9 INT perk would change you into a ghoul.

Just as I thought with the endurance perk, Ghoul like, nothing more.

Also hmm fusion cores lasting longer, something to do with PAs?

I'm wagering that "ghoul" is more akin to the quest perk rad regeneration from Fallout 3 and Rad Child from NV. Radiation will heal you but can still kill you.

I've also noticed the magazines seem to use FWE mechanics for skill books granting perks.

Bethesda is promising additional features.

So being able to turn in to a Ghoul or getting a hard core mode are still very possible after release.

I need to know what Size Matters does, some assume it reduces recoil on ranged weapons but it shows a vault boy holding a revolver. If he was holding a fully automatic weapon with one hand then id say ok it reduces recoil, but I don't know.

Here's some more, non-perk stuff, Dialogue options with which you can talk yourself out of situations are colored orange/red/perhaps more, possibly depending on likelihood of success.

The theft system is much more akin to Skyrim than previous Fallouts and seems to be fairly improved upon with more extensive perks covering it.

There are some immortal/essential characters but they are very few and far in between, generally restricted to vital quest givers.

Weapons and armor no longer degrade, though this doesn't seem to be as major a deal as one may think.

And no, Survival mode does not come with fatigue/thirst/hunger like hardcoe mode in NV.

Well, looks like they didn't bother with actually making you turn into a ghoul. Just a perk that grants benefits from radiation. Which sounds far more reasonable.

But this new Intelligence perk, radiation weapons? This...is interesting to me.

Are there perks that are more inspiring than Skyrim's? I'm not inspired by +2% this, +5% that. I want gameplay changing perks, synergy between perks that create new gameplay opportunities.

Ironic the game with a massive focus on modification no longer requires you to repair your equipment.

Radiation weapons could be a mistranslation of energy weapons.

Not necessarily, we seen other perks that can affect widely diffrent game mechanics, so it's not to far fetched to assume it's the fusion core we see the player slam into the back of a PA.

Fusion core is PA fuel, that's like 99% definite at this point. Trailer already showed it.

Our Spanish source said he was running an SS with a 4 Charisma.

He loaded an earlier save and boosted his Charisma to 6 and tried the missions again.

Said it made a big difference and he was able to resolve a couple of the missions using dialog alone.
