Spoken language in New Vegas (and C.E. preorder)

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:05 am

Hello everyone.

I'm facing a little dilemma concerning the purchase of my New Vegas C.E for the Xbox 360.

Short version: Can the German version (cut or uncut does not matter) be played in English or is there only one audio version available on the disc?

Long version: The preorder bonus is only available to residents of the respective country in which the game is purchased, right? I normally would opt for the UK version, because the German voiceovers are usually pretty crappy compared to the original English version. That, however, would mean that I'd lose my eligibility to download the preorder bonus DLC that comes with New Vegas. If I'd knew that the German version could also be played in English, then I could order it from a German vendor and had the best of both worlds...

Problem is I can't really find any info on whether or not the audio can be changed. Help? :)

There probably won't be multiple languages on one version of the game. Nothing official has been said, I think, but it was that way for Fallout 3.

each edition of F:NV will only have one language . you can't change it .

also, you can make a UK account and access the UK xbox live store where ever you are . so you should be able to get the DLC for the UK copy of the game .

Yeah, but do you think I'll still get the code for the DLC even if I order from a German address?

The Box version does not have multiple languages. The only version you can get with multi language support is the PC one. The question about the whole Live! stuff someone else would have to answer, this has not been stated yet.

you could ask the place you're ordering from . but i'm sure you will .

also, according to amazon and gamestop , the pre-order bonus code for the C.E will be inside the game box .

Just to clarify, you can only have one installed language at a time on the PC version, so it is not truely multilanguage. If you want to change languages, then you have to re-download the game. This applies to retail disk purchases too. You can get a different language from Steam.

As for the Consoles, the language you play is the language on the disk you bought. It can not be changed later on.

Some stores will ask you if you want the English or your country's main language. That happened to me when I went to buy MW2.
