I don't know if the other 2 are confirmed, but Albert was the name that was used in the Perk Chart video. (You can see the Sole Survivor's name on the main menu of the Pip-Boy).

Actually, for US births 2014, Muhammad was the 399th most popular, so it could actually be one of the names spoken.
It does not make any difference to me because I always choose Roman names for my characters(I'm a HUGE Roman histroy buff). I just cannot see any of those names being on that list.
I think it's good the list is not coming out because of all the entitlement people screaming that Turbine is racist or sixist because such and such name is not included.
Ugh, I hate this "what about me" mentality.
I'm actually really optimistic about it. I'm sure it won't be a constant thing of hearing your name from every single NPC, but I bet your companions would call you by name. I can just imagine if one of them gets hurt you'll be able to hear them say "Howard, I need some help over here!" I'm especially optimistic about it after hearing how much dialogue there is in the game.
And yeah, I am very excited for it. I usually just name my character Chyson after my username, but for FO4 I'll name my character Kyle because I'm betting it's on the list.
Oh course they will ... which makes it even more asinine that they would just withhold the list from the get go.
Of course. This being the gaming industry, there are probably fewer female devs in Bethesda to begin with, but there's no reason they wouldn't be included.
This!
Waste of effort, money and DEV time. Unless it was originally a much bigger concept that got eroded down to what we have now because reality always does this to the greatest concepts on paper.
This happen before to Bethesda with oblivion and the AI they had shown off before game release. The AI they had planned and had been "in work" was astounding. Too astounding to make it really work in the game at that time.
So this voice name thing may be a shadow of what it was originally intended.
They won't. Tony might work, Isabela... maybe will work, but not with a last name.
Maybe they misplaced the list of names and are too embarrassed to admit it.
I keep seeing lots of folks referring to the most popular (baby) names lists. I am pretty sure that is not how they chose them. My guess is they data-mined the Steam save files for FO:NV and Skyrim and chose the top names from there.
The files save on Steam named as the PC name and a date/time/location. I am fairly sure that the method used to determine the top 1,000 names was to data-mine the file save and pull out the PC name portion.
It's what I would do if I needed to come up with a list of the popular USED names... and it is a fairly easy data query to write... probably took all of 10 minutes to write the query.
EDIT: Valve takes statistical data like this ALL the time and shares or sells it with its trade partners (in this case Bethesda) so that devs and marketing can make choices that will benefit their game and/or up their sales. This is from the Steam Privacy Statement:
" Valve also processes anonymous data, aggregated or not, in order to anolyze and produce statistics related to the habits, usage patterns, and demographics of users as a group or as individuals. Such anonymous data does not allow the identification of the users to which it relates. Valve may share anonymous data, aggregated or not, with third parties."
Since gamers tend to use PC names cross-games, I think a good indication as to whether a name is include would be whether or not you can go into any MMO and not be able to choose your name or any of its spelling variations without putting a large number after it.
Some names I am SURE are included:
Wolf
Raven
Morrigan
Ajax
Morgan
Leroy (with or without the Jenkins)
Warlock
and a bunch of other names like that, which are CONSTANTLY used in MMOs.
Yeah but ... people use their real names on STEAM?
uhmmm we are not talking 1000 most popular real names... we are talking the 1000 most popular PC names. PC names are part of the saved game steam files... you can extract the PC name from the saved file. Since Valve has access to those files they can data query the unique PC names each player has saved and then compile a list of the most popular PC names from the results.
