Sporadic Chug

Hey everyone. Been having a blast so far with fallout. I have one small problem that I hope can be fixed easily. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be fixed with a patch. When outdoors, with a consistently high framerate, I randomly get a slight hic-up. It's only for a moment, and only about once every couple minutes, but it does grow tiresome. The reason why I don't think this will be patched is because I also experienced it with Oblivion. I played fallout 3 on the xbox, so I don't know how that game would compare. I only think people who have had the same experience could understand what I'm talking about, because it's very strange. Framerate is great inside and outside, but outside it has just a slight jerk randomly. That's the best I can describe it.

Intel i7 920 @ 2.67 GHZ
6 Gig ram
GeForce GTX 275 2x SLI
Onboard sound (potentially the problem, I've seen onboard sound do worse)
WIndows 7 64 bit

I tried the NPC framerate drop fix (again, this is nothing to do with NPCs, just outdoors) and that didn't help. If anyone else has experienced something similar, I'm all ears. If not, I'm going to troubleshoot with a sound card.

-Nick

P.S. I've had random crashes about once every 30 minutes. Is this common for a lot of people? I figure it'll be fixed fine with a patch, but curious if it's just a system problem for me or if its common.

I have sort of the same problem but it happens more than just once in a while, almost every time I do a quick mouse turn it stutters for a second or two, the video card ramps up and then it continues on it's merry journey. As for it crashing randomly, well, welcome to the fallout 3 engine. Quicksave often... (and then hope you don't get the save bug, I just finally got mine to stop loading the same goddam save everytime I continued a game)
