Sporadic frame rates

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:04 pm

Hello,

In some scenes I tend to go from a solid 50 fps to around 25 when I looking at certain areas/environments. Whenever this happens, I notice my GPU usage drop from 100% to 50% on both GPUs. As you can clearly see below...

I'm running the latest drivers. I've tried turning down the graphics from very high to medium and it still occurs. I have AA off. Also, I haven't seen this happen in multiplayer.

Very weird... Anyone else seeing this?

Yeah I am having the same problem as well. I would put a good bet it has something to do with the sli profile. It also seems to happen mostly during cutscenes, occasionally in gameplay. Enough to be annoying but not ruin the game.

I have a similar problem and a similar setup. Even on low settings with medium textures and no AA there are places where it goes from 80+ fps down to 30. I have the game saved right now at a spot where it sits at 30 fps. I tried switching my CPU from it's current OC of 4.2 back to stock and that didn't change frame rates. Even disabled SLI and that didn't change frame rates either. And when my frame rates drop both GPU's go down to like 50% usage. When SLI is disabled GPU usage goes down to like 70-80%. Changing settings does make a difference in frame rates, but not by very much. When I press escape and it pops up menu my frame rates jump up pretty high. Not sure what the issue is here, but I find the game pretty much unplayable as it is even on low settings. Oh and each time it has to load anything there is a pretty significant stutter.

I have the exact same issue, except i'm not running SLI.

Asus GTX 680 2GB
8GB 1600 MHz, corsair probably.

I guess we're just waiting on a new driver?

Me too! Using 3x GTX 480's, ran the beta smoothly. Cutscenes and looking at certain scenes causes a serious drop. Changing settings does nothing. Occurs when looking through windows too.

Really hope this is addressed..

I was just about to post this too. Same thing happens to me. Doesn't matter what settings I use either. FPS v-sync is a solid 60 till select spots usually water related then it drops to 30.

Wonder if this is an issue with Intel CPU's. Either way, wish someone from Crytek would say something. Even on all low settings game is really stuttery and get random severe frame rate drops. This isn't just our machines not performing the way we would like, the game doesn't run right at all.
