Sprint Fix?

Post » Wed Nov 03, 2010 7:39 am

After having put some decent hours into multiplayer I'm pretty happy with almost everything as far as gameplay/nanosuit features go, however I find it pretty annoying that getting shot while sprinting messes you up so bad. You instantly stop sprinting and, even with threat tracer, your chances of getting a shot off before death are pretty slim.

So what do you guys think? Should being shot while sprinting have this effect? Or do you think we should be able to continue sprinting while being shot at?

Personally I'd prefer the latter simply because it's an available feature in most other FPS which, although (obviously) unrealistic, slightly improves survivability.

I agree, so many times i've wanted to run and slide and shoot and i get stopped doing so. It is a feature that I crave to do but don't get to pull off very often.

yea, i agree as well, but i can wait. for now, they need to fix the hacker/cheat problems and the game's bugs first. i'd much rather have them fix those first before they focus on something minor.

I agree with the author, basically because when you're shot (EVEN BY A LOST BULLET) in an open area, you have no chance to survive .

1) If you were cloaked, now it's over and no energy to run away or activate armor
2) If you try to cloak a second bullet will do the thing listed above
3) If you activate armor, you'll still die because while becoming more resistant, you become an even easier target.
4) Sprinting (and sliding consequently) doesn't work when being shot at.
5) Returning fire will result in you being dead 9 out of 10 times, because you are already injured, you have no cover and you don't necessaily know where the shots are coming from, and that considering the dude aims bad enough to let you hesitate about what to do.

So yes, it's fu*king annoying.

Losing energy after being hit in cloak is fine for balancing purposes imo, but normal sprinting is balanced already by the fact you're not using cloak or armour - all it does is make run n gun a less viable option; which I'm sure wasn't their intention, what with the dogtag system.

I agree with the OP, but there is already a thread for this http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13482
