Sprinting in Fallout 4 - What would you think?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 8:57 pm

Personally, having the possibility to sprint would be awesome because I remember the number of time I wanted to get around a mountain and it took me ten good minutes, just for me to realize that I'm going the wrong way.

If it won't be in the original game it will be added via mods, just like Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but yeah having a sprint option from the start is good.

Yeah. Sprinting'd be good. The distance based on endurance, the speed based on agility (perhaps even a possiblity of tripping).

Add in the ability to knock down someone based on strength like PN and I'd say we've got a sprint ready to go.

I hope Fallout 4 has sprinting. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has sprinting so I'm pretty sure Bethesda Game Studios will be adding or added sprinting in Fallout 4.

I just hope we cannot run while wearing power armor.

In Skyrim your sprinting speed and the stamina cost was affected by the weight of your worn armor. I'm sure that AP will be a sort of parallel to stamina, and they'll have it governed the same way it is in Skyrim. Maybe they'll even make sprinting in Power Armor laughably slow/costly.

After having it in Skyrim, I can't imagine why they wouldn't have it in Fallout 4. Would definitely be awesome.

Definitely needs to be there and definitely needs to be balanced.

It's quite easy: Speed is influenced by armor (weight would be overkill imo) and Agility, AP consumption is based on Endurance.

Of course enemies need to be able to intelligently sprint as well. Otherwise it would be better to leave it out completely. I don't want no superhuman skill.

Seeing that they freed up the "sprint" button by making the "move object" key/button a press-and-hold on the "activate object" key/button instead of its own, I don't see why they wouldn't again in FO4 to free up a sprint key. What would it run on, though? AP?

What I want to see them do is a proper sprint-jump.

It's an RPG. Not only sprinting, but nearly everything should revolve around SPECIAL, skills and perks.

It's a feature of Project Nevada which I feel is now a regular part of the game after a while of using it.

It should cost action points like the mod variant does. If it's implemented well, it would be a very nice addition.

Totally for it, would give AP another use besides being for VATs.

Exactly this. Like any good RPG, it should be based on your stats and attributes to determine how effective it will be. :tops:

Yes. One of the most annoying things about Skyrim was the lack of a sprinting jump.

That's the way mods did it (using AP) for F3 and NV, it worked pretty well as obviously you couldn't just sprint into combat and VATS everyone...or VATS everyone and sprint out of combat.
