Stability @ Launch

Post » Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:36 pm

Do you guys think the Launch of the game (early access too) will be stable? Do you think it will be plagued with server crashes and disconnects? Or do you think you will suffer heavily from server lag? Or on a positive side, do you think you will have a stable and stress-less connection to the new 'Mega-server' concept.

  • It will not be stable
  • It will crash
  • It will have problems
  • It will rise again and crash again

Prepare with

  • camping gear
  • drinks
  • food

I dont even know why I pre ordered for 5 days early access. The servers are going to be FUBAR the whole 5 days!

On the off chance the game is a little playable, id consider calling in sick though.

Well they did a pretty good beta stress test having the servers loaded with double the amount of what they were designed for. So I dont expect lots of problems, Except if we get hundreds of thousand, or millions of people that we werent expecting.

The stress test seemed to go well. All we can say is that with the box cost plus a sub it needs to be a superior launch. It has to hit the ground running and it has to not have any major quest breaks. It's bound to have bugs but the major ones need to have been dealt with or they run the risk of purchasers cutting their losses.

Ideally the next beta will have all the major bugs removed and will be something that really shows how great this game is going to be.

Well.. there have been several rounds of beta tests so far held to STRESS TEST the servers, so they are certainly giving thought to it and trying to forward plan.

That said, I think it's going to be a massive hit. If it is, lets think of WoWs release. That was a fairly big hit that rapidly grew bigger. On release, and on expansion nights it crashed. On release it crashed repeatedly. Extended blackouts with no access. Pretty bad. Things grinding to a complete halt.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were problems, but I'm confident they will sort any that pop up.

They'd be very silly not to have one more that shows the world the real ESO, with the new start and new collision detection. Not the one with major quest lines broken for a lot of us. Something that will spawn a slew of great videos showing it all off

I know this is going to be a great game but I'm a guy who has a bunch of u-tube subs to ESO type channels because he can hardly wait. There's a lot of people less rabid than me that still need convincing.
