[REL] Staff Agency

um, I'm confused. The dl page has WAY too many files. I understand A Lord's Men, Antares mod and the other one as similar files. BUT I have no clue as to what I need to dl. All 4 of the files? patch, doc, textures and whatever the other one was? Could you please clarify this? It does sound interesting.

That's a pretty cool idea, I'll try it out if I ever get Morrowind to work for me. :P

Great mod...I hired the mage, alchemist, librarian, spellweaver, and scout to fill out my very empty stronghold at Tel Uvirith. Bought the necromancer and stuck him in the cave underneath the tower, and got him some modest necromancer-ish furnishings thanks to Dave Humphrey's furniture store. Thinking about getting the hunter and giving him a home just outside the tower with Acheron's camping gear...all this plus BUUG really turns Uvirith's Grave into the place to be. Now Tel Uvirith actually seems like a legitimate Telvanni tower instead of a completely inhospitable uknown hermit mage's abode. Good job! Although I wish I didn't have to hire the housekeeper just to do the Librarian's quest...oh well.

All the house keeper will cost you is a broom and 200g, you can fire her the following month if you wish. I can understand that the cute kittens she keeps adopting might not go too well in the Telvanni interior of a powerful telvanni mage ;) Worst case scenario, you can give them to your necromancer to experiment on... Hum, something to consider for an update...

Glad you like my mod :)

Haha yeah, or maybe I'll hire the housekeeper BECAUSE of the kittens...every Telvanni needs their eccentricity. Therana's got her rotten eggs, and I'll be the crazy old cat man. At least cats are cuter than eggs.

Actually a crazy cat loving house keeper is a lovely idea ! ( probably why she was the first staff member I contracted for my current abode ) If only she could be scripted to mutter insanely about weird crap ! LOL ! Danae , all your staff members are great and help to fill out my chosen abode ( the large and echoingly empty Castle Vianden ) Ok , I did say that I would have some suggestions for new staff ( other than the card loving Gambler ) they are :
1 . Explorer . Is sent out to reconnoitre and locates random caves and ruins revealing areas of the world map as yet unexplored by the player .
2 . Fossicker . An old timer who spends his time panning for precious gems . He would supply low grade gems as a service , high grade after better service quest .
3 . Crafter . If its possible to build into the Staff Agency some support for Morrowind Crafting or Morrowind Complete then a crafter or group of crafters ( each with a separate speciality ; potter , woodworker , silver smith , glassblower , etc )
4 . Factor . Does the estate purchasing for you and ( as a special service ) will find great bargains .
5 . Savant . Specializes in lore and , with the appropriate library can answer most lore related questions . Perhaps with a particular interest in one field or another and for better service would supply in depth info on that subject .
6 . Poet . He or she recites epic poetry ( a cultural alternative to the bard , dancer and courtesans ) Perfect for impressing visiting VIP's or boring the socks off the regulars !
As I think of more possibilities , I'll let you know ! Thanks for the wonderful mod : it adds so much variety to Morrowind . Cheers , CrazyGreggy .

Thanks for your suggestions :) I have a couple of ideas for the gambler, the main one being the addition of a new set of trading cards (with its new album and power), their location being know by the gambler only. The sailor already gives some locations and if you use Archimaestro Antares' big mod, the scout will take you to any location of the region your in. The miner will have an upgrade and I'm thinking of introducing a jeweler. The Pegasus Estate will have MC facilites in its workshop. I also plan some changes to the merchant, she could, once a month come up with a rare find available for a cheaper price, I'll see what I can do. The Librarian will be digging information for a number of quests, the Necromancer is well versed in Vampire lore and, a dwemer ghost will be added (through a quest, not hired) and will provide insights in science. I haven't planned a poet per say, but the male courtesan will recite poetry while the female coutesean will speak in Haiku (well, I'll see how writing those go). Oh, almost forgot, there is something in store for the cats as well ;)

Right now, I don't want to say too much of what I want to do, in case I cannot implement it all. If all goes according to plan, I will be (finally) working on the dialogues and quests for the Staff in March, after the house is built.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying playing my mods :)

Sounds great , I'm really looking forward to Pegasus Estate ! ( Been checking out your progress there on the appropriate forum ) Good that we'll get some additional service and upgraded service from your staff and I love the cats ! They are currently roaming the kitchen in Castle Vianden and look excellent there . The dwemer ghost sounds like a great idea . With my other ideas , they were somethings that popped into my head while weeding a clients garden , so I hadn't the means to check if you had covered them and forgot to check when I got home ( mea culpa , mea culpa , mea maxima culpa ! ) Keep on interweaving your mods , the result is wonderful .
Thanks and cheers from Australia

EDIT : I knew there was one that I forgot : The Jester ! Could be fun especially with the wider animation options available . Cheers !

The bard's new service should make him more of a jester than he is. I'm hoping to collect a few jokes and translate them into 'MW', a bit like in Might and Magic 6 back in the days (I would hire a, hum, not sure they were called jesters, anyway, I'd hire one instead of a useful guy just to have my one joke per day).

OH , cool ! I should say that with all the tid-bits you're dropping about your intentions that the next implementation of The Staff Agency , it is shaping up to be a real winner ! I'm looking forward to it , though I do understand that you want to complete Pegasus Estate first ( I'm eagerly awaiting that too ! ) . Cheers , Danae .

So..which .esp is the correct one? Is it the one dated Aug 3 2009 (507,263 bytes)?

The latest esp is either the single esp download (that correct the one from the main download of 30 mb, or the one in the patch download if you had version 1.0.
The NOM and COV esp are optional and come in addition to the regular esp.
Hope this helps :)

Thank you for the reply.

The two .esp files (patch and separate file) are not the same - different file sizes. Hence my confusion.

Hmmmm . That isn't right . What other mods have you running that change the behavior of NPC's ? The hired staff always follow me to where ever I want them .

Try using Staff Agency without A Lords Men . Shouldn't be conflicting but I haven't had those two running together . Also . try re-dating Staff Agency so it loads after A Lords Men .

Ooooo ! Check the Pegasus Estate thread , but I think there may be some issues with using both at once at the present . Danae is intending a Staff Agency patch to make the two compatible but hasn't yet done it . Try without Pegasus . ( Although , I had both in use and didn't encounter your problem .) I'll load them both and see if I can replicate the problem .

Ok, I tried running it without Pegasus and it worked fine. I then used Pegasus again and it worked fine. Thanks for the help :)
