Staffs and Magic...If a staff is two handed...

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:22 am

Remains to be seen I guess if they watched fighting technique movies:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoq-FvEsO-k (not staff, but nonetheless)
or showoff freestyle movies:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVw29NrEX3A (bo staff)

I prefer proper techniques on the field during fighting, but it would have been awesome to visit the arena and just sit there watching showoff moves with a weapon, like it was a competition rather than a fight :) Just tons and tons of motion captures of katas and showoffs of precision and speed :P

There's a screenshot in GI of a guy holding a staff and a sword, and in http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/5466/bear610ed.jpg concept art as well.

It looks like magic staffs are one-handed.

yeah they should be one handed, and look at the liches in oblivion they use one hand for the staff

Staff is probably considered a 2h for purposes of skill and idle animation and 1h for purposes of combat animation..

Tap is melee swing with perks to kd and kb..
Hold is using staffs magical enchant..
Block is well block..

And why wouldn't the oh staff of destruction enhance the main hand spell of fire?!

id like mage staffs which are two handed. they could work this way: with a staff equipped, you can still have 1 (or maybe even 2) spells equipped, and fire them off through the staff for enhanced effect or lower mana cost. staffs could vary in strength and some could maybe even enhance your magical skills or mana regeneration etc. cool? :hubbahubba:

According to concept art form bethesda that shows dude fighting with staff and sword, staffs are one handed.

I want a mod that makes the one-handed staff doubles as a fencing tool.
