Staffs of the Daedra

Just something I've been working on, on the side. :)

Description: This mod adds some new staffs, one for several of the major Daedra Princes. They can be found in shrines to each of those princes. You'll have to search hard to find each of them, but should be worth the effort. They are not enchanted but have high enchant ratings and are good quality.

1. DESCRIPTION
===============

This mod adds some new staffs, one for several of the major Daedra Princes. They can be found in shrines to each of those princes. You'll have to search hard to find each of them, but should be worth the effort. They are not enchanted but have high enchant ratings and are good quality.

===============
2. Requirements
===============

Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon

========================
3. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN
========================

Extract the folder contents to c:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files

=====================
4. PLAYING THE PLUGIN
=====================

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the md_daedralord_staffs.esp

This mod has been cleaned with Enchanted Editor. So no worries.

As I said before, the staffs are hidden. But I'll give you a hint on one: Where's the most obvious place where the Staff of Azura would be? Aside from that, I have spoilers below. Oh, and Hircine and Mephala have had new shrines constructed for them. So, don't look for their staffs in existing ruins... be careful their shrines are guarded by dangerous creatures.

Fine, I'll give you hints on their locations too.
Hircine's shrine lies to the north, between A dwemer ruin and the misty sea.
Mephala's Shrine is hidden among farmland, alongside a pool of water.
Hermaeus Mora's Shrine is in a watery cavern in the torn region to the west, south of a lost dunmer outpost.

===============
5. SAVE GAMES
===============

You should be fine :-)

============================
6. CONFLICTS / KNOWN ERRORS
============================

Anything which alters the exact exterior locations of the Shrine of Mephala or Hircine's Shrine. Or severely alters the interiors of the shrines where I placed the staffs.

============
7. CREDITS
============

Yeah I've seen it, and it is very good. But I just preferred the style of TR's: it didn't have black overtones or red eyes, just plain stone. So I liked TR's better for my design; other than the hair, I like Westly's Mephala's hair :D

And yes, I appreciate your play-testing :P

nah, it's no problem. I found a lot of stuff I wanted to fix which I'm not sure playtesters would have caught. But regardless, if you notice anything wrong with this, let me know! ;)

All of these look exceptionally nice. Some of them not only look beautiful, they also look deadly (I wouldn't want to get poked in the eye with Hircine's horns or that sharp tip of Azura's moon). Very, very well done!

Thanks. Yes, Hircine's antlers are a rare adamantium alloy coated with crushed stone :hehe:

^ All hail Hermaeus Mora! (He's everyone's favorite daedric prince...they're just too ignorant to realize it yet! :laugh: )

I really, really love it! Nice job! :thumbsup:

Thanks Fiore :)

-------------------------------------------

Well, I would be releasing the update with hermy and his staff, but I'm having issues with the collision on his statue. Here's what I have set up, if someone wants to take a look at it for me then I'll be able to release the update, Thanks!

http://www.mediafire.com/?km793l3hsvs32t5

But for now, I'm going to bed.

http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr256/ericthered1090/md_new_hermy-mora.jpg - obviously credits for the original model go to TR, but the mesh, UV, texture, eye-adding edits are my own.

Thanks, I sorted it out. Just had to switch some things around. Must have been tired last night. As far as it being a resource. Yep. TR said their's was a resource, and I say my version is as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Update!!

So I felt like incorporating Hermaeus Mora. So he now has his own staff and shrine as well. The readme has the location hint, and the full readme has the spoiler.

I think the file didn't update - I redownloaded it twice and still no sign of anything related to Hermy...

That's strange, I've reuploaded the file twice and it tells me it updated (I even change the description) but when I download it, it's the same file :unsure:

And yes I double checked the file I am uploading :P

edit: Hmmmm, just uploaded it AGAIN and got this error message several times

I've same error when I try to download your mod and it seems that FilePlanet has a database issue.

Perhaps http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/index.php is a better alternative to upload it there instead of PES.

I'll try and get around to uploading it elsewhere. You sure are an advocate for uploading at GHF aren't you? I suppose I should, I don't know that I've released any mods there yet...

Just make sure that download link is search-able in ES Search 2, so you don't doing the same mistake I did twice. :)

Yes you did my mistake, because I found nothing when I use http://search2.yacoby.net/ to search for it. :user:

Did you wrote anything in the "http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6051/ghfreadmetemplate.jpg" (xml - ver, auth, desc) lines?
If I'm not mistaking those xml lines is needed to have some information if you're using Yacoby's ES Search 2. :)

I think you should have the "Staffs of the Daedra v1.50" in the xml-ver instead of 1.50 version in that xml line and I suggest that try to have the same text in both xml-title+ver line. If that doesn't work I don't know who to make it search-able with ES Search 2. Perhaps you should ask Filggerty of how to do just that. :)

IIRC, ES Search updates its database once a month (i.e. re-queries the hosting websites), not sure if it's more frequent at GHF.

I'd hate to nitpick, but Sheogorath's staff isn't supported by anything and just floats there. Maybe make the support for his statuette bigger?
