Stalhrim armour looks..... amazing

Post » Sun Jul 21, 2013 5:54 am

I hate the light helm, but I also just dislike My characters in Helms. I like Nordic Carved, but the only character that does not try to kill My characters on sight that wear it is Frea

I would have preffered Morrowind Nordic Chain to anything in Dragonborn, though.

Yes to both. I don't think it looks unfinished or too feminine. It looks enchanted and with the fur it looks good for a cold weather clime. My favorite till I started a Nord heavy warrior, now I'm loving the hell out ot steel plate.

Looks cool, but I wouldn't wear it on my character (because only black armor is hip).

Now, if Stalhrim looked like http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/33368-2-1363372461.jpg, I may reconsider.

You kidding?... Ughh... It's like strapping freezer ice on your chest, legs and head. With all the furs and leather and horns, the whole thing looks like preserved roadkill. :yuck:

I find the helmet to be better than both of the current ones, but that's a nice opinion you got there.

It does look better than the heavy one. the light one is alright but I hate wearing any head piece except hoods and circlets.

I hate those tight quilted trousers on the Heavy version. Like they worked from top to bottom and just stopped to care at the waistline.

If your character happens to be a heavy armored, morally good warrior, there are only three options once you reach the highest levels.

Dragonplate, Stalhrim and Daedric. The last option is out, since it doesn't make sense to have your good guy dressing up like an evil overlord.

Ebony might do it, but... you'll barely survive depending on what level you are and difficulty setting.

Serana looks good in anything. Especially nothing.

No. When I heard magical Ice armor, I was expecting something different... it looks bad to me.

I don't see it that way at all. While I do absolutely love the sheer look of Daedric, I will ALWAYS don what is best looking for a given character. The AR cap can be easily hit with most armors. Ebony can reach 567 without issue. A paladin warrior can get there with Steel Plate and even Steel, for that matter.

All the while playing on Legendary, if one so chooses.

Took a while for me to get used to it, but yeah, love me the light variant without the helmet. I'm still getting used to the bottom part though. The pants and boots look odd, but that's something you can say about most armors in the game. I guess Nords just have a bare leg/skirt fetish?

Hey hey hey! What do mages have to do with this? As a frost battlemage I'd gladly wear it. Dat fur trim...

You mean like http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/archive/d/d0/20121206144217!Dragonborn_Stalhrim_armour.jpg guy from the load screen who looks very fruity? :P

It's too "blingy" and baby blue-ish for my tastes. I wish they had more armor that looks beat up and battle worn like real armor should look.

Besides the Nord in the armor, that loading screen sealed the deal for my love of Stalhrim.

It's odd to me that people (most people) complain about being overpowered in the game, and then most people (so there must be some overlap) also wear high powered armours (usually daedric, if they can get it) like all the time.

I don't mind being overpowered, but I hate looking like a clownish awkward fool, so I don't touch most of the armours, and I especially have no aspirations for deadric.

I dont complain about being OP. I also dont care about the Armour Rating. Hide armour is one of my favorites.

We barely see it on your image: http://images.uesp.net/c/c3/DB-item-Stalhrim_Armor_Female.jpg

The helmet is awful, but there's nothing new here...

Edit: the light version: http://images.uesp.net/2/27/DB-item-Light_Stalhrim_Armor_Female.jpg

... and the helmet is awful, too.

The only armours that look good to my eyes are the fur one and the scale horned one, minus the helmets, of course. :P

This just gave me the idea to make Stalhrim Light Armor after I beat the Dawnguard DLC. I like the entire set, just not the helmet, it just looks strange to me.
