Stalhrim ore mine

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 7:36 am

Stalhrim that was featured in morrowind Bloodmoon , some say that it was exclusive of this place , but also the Solstheim Nords are somehow society apart ....

I think it could be reintroduced as also a sort of glass like material as is the malachite and the ebony in Skyrim , tough with a corrispondence in real life coudl be another kind of titanium / aluminium mineral that worked coudl lead to this kind of cristaline material almoust a diamond in hardness ....

Anyway http://media.criticstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/game-of-thrones-valar_undead.jpgis how I imagine a Stalhrim sword or spear , and this is what I am probably introducing in my mod as well ... I would like ot put a Stalhrim ore but I want to find a plausible name or way to introduce it , should it be an alloy or an actual ore?

if alloy what to refine etc?

I would make it an ore to make into ingots (like the normal system) because it did exist in Bloodmoon as Raw Stalhrim which could be considered an equivalent to ore in Skyrim. Alloying it with steel would allow for an easier (and more believable) to temper it with as Stalhrim is rare. Depending on how you implement Stalhrim into the game should determine how you want to temper it, but from Bloodmoon, the underlying base looks to be of Nordic Steel origin so I'd go with that!! :)

Chillrend looks kinda like Stahlrim or just heavily enchanted frost salt glass.

It's a unique blue glass sword with frost enchantments.

Chillrend was originally a blue glass shortsword recieved from a farmer near Chorrol in Oblivion that did frost damage and weakness to frost. In Skyrim it was given to Mercer Fray by some contact only known as "R" and it now does frost damage and paralyze. I thought about it being Stalhrim based too!! However, the idea of glass being forged with frost salts is definitely a valid idea ha. I wish I knew more about its origin, but thats all I got :P

it would be intersting to make your own stalhrim, but i still thing the nords knowing its very taboo would come with it. maby nords that attack like ordinators in morrowind. i mean the nords do love traditions it would fit.

It's a unique blue glass sword with frost enchantments.

It also makes crackling ice noises and has frosty mist coming off of it at all times... Stalhrim?

I get the feeling Stalhrim is kind of like Dwarven metal. If it exists in Mainland Skyrim, the process of making it has long been lost; however, it can still be recovered and worked, much the way Dwemer metal can be recovered and worked, but not made from scratch.

Some people think Stalhrim originally came from the Falmer.

Can you guys collect for me a substantial lore background to place a plausible reason for me to create and put Stalhrim weapons into Issgard ? I can also deserve a mine or a collecting spot on the island if needed or cristal salts needed or whatever needed to get this cool semitransparent icelooking sword in game ...

You could find it on a shipwreck or buy it from some trading company or merchants who came from skyrim... What's Issgard?

actually it looks like funny power ranger armor, it would come close to a blue-ish glass like set if put into the new games
