Stalked: A new fear

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2016 2:51 am

Hoping that we get a dlc where we are stalked by all manner of creatures and/or assassins. Some kinda bounty on our head that we must fight to uncover the organization behind the attempts at our life. Waking up with our power armor and guns stolen and having to go get em back. As for creatures, something that will randomly (anywhere) come up behind you stealthy like and knock you down! Fun Fun Fun! :dmc:

No no no. Smart thieves who carry around fusion cores. And snipers that shoot at you the moment you pop your head out from the third rail. Things like that.

I laugh because I posted 1 month before FO4 came out that I was hoping enemies would be able to mini-nuke us. I was told by every responding poster that it was a dumb ridiculous absurd impossible idea. LOL! It was a great pleasure getting mini nuked by a gunner for the first time. Now howdya like them mininukes? :ahhh: :lmao:

in fo3 you would find enemies that had bounty notices for you. or was that skyrim? it's been so long!

anyway, that would be cool to walk up on a group of raiders that were waiting on you somewhere and they be like, "there's the vaultboy, let's get em!" and you be all like, "hell naw!" and pause time to shoot some psychojet and equip a molotov and shotgun and they won't know what hit em!

You would think the Gunners would be upset about all the members I've killed and others. Fallout 3 and Skyrim had contracts placed on you so why not. Being hunted by wild animals would add to the fun but not a quick instance, let it develop while walking through an area.

Yes! As well as feel like you are really being hunted. I guess New vegas kinda had this but once you knew the spots where the legion would come at chya from then it was a quick esther to them. I'm just looking for some groundbreaking "being hunted" and the NEED to build a settlement full of locks and defenses.

That would be awesome! I would love to hear some loud deathclaw roars in the distance, then some throaty growls hear and there, followed later by some heavy footsteps and breaking branches nearby... then outta nowhere a savage deathclaw right on top of ya! Good times

Other then the OP seeming to think like your average kid on the playground(one up mentality), this is a good concept but it would have to be done right.

First of all a stalker like event is already in teh game with decon or what ever his name is, he is basicly a stalker and you can see him in several events before you actually meet him, Anyway for a hostile stalker or assassin it would have to be played out well.

For example randomly getting shot at by a long range laser weapon from a bridge or tower only to find there is nothing there when you get there or just have enough time to see a shaddowed figgure pull a stealth boy before vanishing.

That would be a great event to start a stalker quest line, but it would have to be one of many instances of near miss or direct hit confrentation. Having to deal with an enemy playing in the sniper play stile is a fear inducing state.

Other events could be set if you go to sleep in dangerous areas like sleeping in a random bed outside of a settlment only to wake up with a note in your inventory and a poisoned debuff.

The problem with a stalker/assassin is simple, rarely if ever is a confrontation with one fun. Sure it may get rid of the guy but an assassion working from range hired to kill you or make your life hell, that doesn't make much of a fight unless the fight is on their terms in which case the player may fill powerless which in a game like fallout 4 is something needed from time to time, the thought that this one guy, is your equal able to keep up with you do harm to you and always get away is disimpowering to some one playing a virtual demigod. (basicly every player character ever in an RPG)

not really I am saying it would have to be done right, and that is extremely hard to do, this is something that would be more fit for a mod then a actual in game thing.

I think it would make a great DLC, drop $10 for a questline involving some organized group of assassin raiders, and even after you take them out there will still be rogue groups all over the commonwealth, random encounters as well as designated spawn locations where they'll perch somewhere and rain down super high-powered sniper hell on the vault dweller. Maybe also give them stealthboys, nuka quantum, and silencers.
