Stanton, Alaska. A Anchorage RP Interest and OOC Thread.

Post » Mon Apr 21, 2014 8:52 am

By October 23 2077, the Great War reaches it's peak. Several bombs hit Alaska, most strike their intended targets. Although The military bases of Elmendorf Air Force Base, and Fort Richardson weren't directly hit by the Nukes, the Fallout set shock waves destroying a portion of the bases, and spread radiation across the nearby areas. It is unclear how bad Anchorage was damaged, or how much radiation has engulfed the city.

The Date is August 2127. It's been 50 years after the Great War. And Alaskans have begun reclaiming parts of their home. Anchorage is a Raider stronghold. Held and warred over by many Raider Tribes. You are Settlers in the newly formed Town of Stanton. Founded by William Ted Stanton. The town sits on the old Port Of Anchorage. And as such Warehouses and shacks surround you, crates, pallets, and barrels line the walls and streets near these buildings. The town has a basic wall made out of cars and debris. It's up to you, you to help the town grow. You will be greeted by the Current Deputy, Elizabeth "Nuke" Mouse. As she gides you through the town. She appears as a slightly tall, and attractive young woman with short brown hair. She has a long Duster, with only her right arm in the coat, as her other was blown off in a explosive accident in her youth. She bears the scars on the left side of her body, but otherwise is able and intelligent.

This RP will play out with a few rules and mechanics. The first is that this is a Survival and Town Building RP. So there will be goals that will need to be met each month. Goals such as Food, Defenses, and Economy. Each month Two or more of these goals must be met. Some examples of what could happen. If the food demand is not met, citizens will starve or resort to cannibalism. If the town defenses are lacking, animals will wander the streets or get into the food storage. And worse case Raiders will capture parts of the town forcing you to take it back, or abandon those still in it's walls to die. And if the Economy fails people will leave and search for a new life elsewhere.

Rules

1. This RP is run by VATROU I make the rules and are bound to them as well. Please respect your mod.

2. If you have a question, please post it in the OOC thread. If you have a problem, please PM me.

3. Character controlling is not allowed.

4. Any actions that include killing or injuring between players must be agreed upon before hand

5. Your approved character sheet is FINAL.

6. If you decide to leave I ask that you make an exit post. If an exit post is made, and you wish to return, that can be arranged. If you do not make an exit post, I will dispose of your character as I see fit. One thing is certain, no exit post means your character will never return. Be it death, slavery or whatever else I decide. You took the time to create your character, please, take the time to make an exit post. If not for yourself, for others.

Not a rule. But check my http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1499071-alaska-fan-lore/ thread, as I'll be using some ideas from that.

Yeah I copied the Rules from Grayditch, There might be a few more rules that need to be added. Also paladin, I'll take you up on your offer to CO-GM, If you don't have time, let me know and I'll see if anyone else can.

Mechanics.

First there are three goals that will expand the growth of the town, two of them must be met each month, I went over them in another post.

The Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L. System will be used in the RP, as well as Traits. There will not be Perks or a leveling system. Your Skills will have a effect on various things, combat will be easier, certain jobs require Skills and SPECIAL related to the job.

You can create your own culture, for your character's history. I just need to approve it. I'll make suggestions and tell you why I can't accept something if I feel it doesn't fit the theme of the RP. And This is a moderately low tech setting, Power Armor is very rare, while combat armor can be found. Desert Ranger Armor, has been replaced with the Arctic Ranger Armor. I made some Lore as to why these exist in my Fan Lore thread. There will be tech, lasers and plasma. Just don't expect to find a Power Armor suit, as most would have been redeployed probably leaving less than 30 suits behind.

Regarding the character sheet, are the SPECIAL, Skills, and Traits a necessary part of it? It's just a small comment, but I generally dislike having in-game stats of any sort in my CS, so if I could replace those three with a standard CS 'Skills' section, that'd be great (if not, I can just get over it).

Anyway, I'm obviously interested, though I'll have to see how free I am before I join for sure.

The SPECIAL and Skills are necessary for combat and a few other things. Someone more perceptive would see a bomb in a pile of trash, whilst someone with a low perception couldn't see a lamppost if they walked into it. The traits are just for flavor, and can be ignored. The skills are required for a few jobs, but otherwise can be ignored as well, it's just makes sense that a Sheriff would be good with guns. That and i want SPECIAL Checks, and skill checks. I have a few things planned for characters that choose them, with a high or low advantage or disadvantage. Also I get the feeling I'm missing something don't know what, perhaps I just forgot to add something..

Wait yes, you can create your own culture, for your character's history. Ah, so these stats will play a role in how the RP plays out and functions? In that case, I think I may pass, as I've never really been a fan of that system. If I'm being honest with myself, I probably wouldn't have had enough time to be active in this RP anyway.

Anyway, good luck with the RP Vatrou. It does seem like an interesting setting.

Not a major role, but they do play a part. I think I could best compare them to the Wild Wasteland perk. It won't affect everything. Shame you won't have time to RP though.
