For me, my favorite is still the original 1977 version of Star Wars. I liked the CGI version of the Battle of Yavin in the 1997 version, but I think Lucas went over board every where else.

I love how Mos Eisley looked in the 1977 original cut. I just had the look of a lawless port. Kinda like Port Royale.

I hate how he "softened" the cantina. IV and V are my favorite followed by VI and VII

So question. This may have been discussed, but why was there blood when Obi sliced off dude's arm in the cantina? Wouldn't the heat from the light saber cauterize the wound?

Yeah, I think that was an oversight of the time.

I never seen the original cuts for any of the movies in the OT. I have seen pictures, like how the Emperor looked in ep V. That's one change that I know of that I like.

And I agree, I think that was a positive change, I'm just saying he went waaaaaaaaaaay over board with the changes.

Wasn't the original emperor in V a lady with a male's voice overdubbed?

The lowered expectations for the explanations of major questions left unanswered from TFA:

Snoke was just a jedi who turned dark, then joined and served the Emperor in the distant background, only coming to power due to the giant power vacuum left after RotJ.

Rey is just a random chosen one abandoned by an uncaring family.

Finn is nothing more than kidnapped brainwashed former storm trooper with sub-par combat skills that make him something in between comic relief and a projection of the audience within the narrative.

The Force Awakens as a movie title still doesn't have a coherent explanation or tie into any event unlike the last 6 movies and the next ones coming out.

The original Emperor was an old woman with a man's voice and chimp's eyes. They were going for an alien, rather unsettling look, which I preferred. The original voice and lines were also more convincing.
