I saw Star Wara in 1977 as a ten year old boy. To this day I remember my most memorable moment hearing the deep bass of the star destroyer's engines shake the walls of the theater compounded with the sharp horns from the soundtrack as the camera was underneath the star destroyer when it was after the blockade runner. And this was the very beginning of the movie too.

It was like Zues coming down from the heavens to visit an Ancient Greek lol.

My first proper introduction into Star Wars was when I first played "Knights of the Old Republic" in 2003. I was 23 then and had heard of SW but never gave it a chance. KOTOR completely changed how I looked at the movies. The revelation in the game was epic and it made me feel what people must've felt when Darth Vader revealed his identity to Luke. After spending hundreds of hours going through every dialogue choice, every side quest, and every nook and cranny of each planet. I then saw all of the movies in order I-VII, and fell in love with some while disregarding others. Then I bought books like the "Darth Bane Trilogy" and "The Thrawn Trilogy" and fell in love with them. My favorite era is the Old Republic. I love anything that has to do with Marka Ragnos, Naga Sadow, Exar Kun, Darth Revan, and Darth Bane.

I grew up watching the OT in the 90's on VHS. I LOVED the films and would probably have a marathon at least once a month for the longest time. I would take sticks and pretend I was Luke battling Vader and the evil forces of the Empire. I have such a deep rooted connection to the OT it's crazy. I'm not so much a fan of the PT, though I do appreciate what Lucas attempted with them. I am very much excited for the upcoming films.

I grew up on the PT but since then my interest in SW disappeared. But since the Force Awakens, i have really got into SW. I have played the KOTOR games, watched Clone wars and Rebels and play FFG X wing miniatures.

Does anyone play any of the other FFG Star Wars games (such as Force and Destiny) and are they any good?

I remember my first introduction to Star Wars was back in the 90's they would play the original trilogy on USA network I think around Christmas time. Then I was excited when they released the "Special Edition" in theaters.

I forgot to mention. Star Wars got me into scifi. I love movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, and Stargate; and tv shows like Star Trek: TNG, Stargate SG-1, and Farscape.

I got to watch the Special Edition of the Original Trilogy in theaters, it was pretending I was seeing Star Wars for the first time on the big screen since I was use to only seeing Star Wars on the tv. Also I came REALLY close in getting the Star Wars Rebels Ghost vessel at Targets, sadly it wasn't suppose to be on the self and I wasn't able to buy it.

I'm watching now. Question: why did Vader need the Interogator Droid?

Like normal people, Jedi are said to have aptitudes. Most are likely to be gifted in certain areas, less so in others. It seems to me that Vader's ability to sense things through the force is usually connected to his emotions. He could sense that his mother was alive, that Padme was in danger and, in one instance, was able to read his son's thoughts during a particularly emotional moment.

But I know of no evidence that suggests that Vader was skilled at telepathy in everyday situations. There is also the theory that his powers are greatly diminished after Mustafar.

I believe in The Clone Wars, Anakin was able to use the force to get the bounty hunter Cad Bane to tell him what he wanted to know. I may be mistaken though so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

*Edit* The theory about his powers being diminished after Mustafar would explain it.

Do you remember what information Anakin was trying to find out? Was this during the Senate hostage caper? I'll have to re-watch The Clone Wars. I don't remember that particular incident.

I wonder if he's referring to the story arc that involves capturing force-sensitive children perhaps? At the end of that story arc Bane was captured and interrogated. But in that episode it it took the combined efforts of Mace Windu, Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Skyrwalker joining forces and telepathically extracting the information from Bane. None of the three were powerful enough to get the information by themselves.

That's all I can think of. If he's talking about some other episode, then I don't know.

Yep, Lucas said if Anakin had reached his full potential, he would have been twice as powerful as Sidious. After Mustafar he was severely weakened.

Hmm, I don't remember the specifics behind it. It may be the Force Sensitive Abductions case Lady Selene mentioned. It's been a while since I watched it so I may have just had the particulars wrong.

Still, it seems odd that a relative novice (Kylo Ren), and person lacking any training at all (Rey) can do it but Vader could not.

Watching RotS. I can see what Lucas wanted to do but.... without a strong writer and a good director/editor the films are just subpar to the OT. Also my biggest gripe is that RotS does not maintain that shock that comes in ESB. If you watch the films in order there is no mystery.

When we compare things we typically compare "like to like." When it comes to an episodic narrative (or a play in several acts) we usually compare the first to the first, the second to the second, third to third, ect. We do not usually compare the last act of a play to the first act of a play and criticize the last act because it did not do the same things the second act did.

The second act of a play is usually when stakes are raised, when obstacles are put in the protagonists' paths. Of course the third installment doesn't "maintain the shock that comes in ESB." Return of the Jedi did not do that either. Why? Because it was not the job of either film to do such a thing. When playwrights, novelists or screenwriters reach their last act they are resolving crises, tying up loose ends...they are not introducing new ones.

I agree with your basic point. I agree that, in general, the OT was better. But, in my opinion, this comparison is not a good way to go about making that point.

I was going to write something similar, but Lady Selene pretty much sums up what I was going to say.:)

Idk which version of the OT the are playing but these added "echo" effects added to the voices are killing my ears. What were they thinking! They sound like they played the audio into a tin can and rerecorded it.

Nice Death Star you have there. Is that an actual hanger the transport is inside of?

EDIT: My Google-Fu has totally failed me and I cannot find your Death Star online. Could you please be so kind as to post a link?
