Starlight Drive-in and Sanctuary "power" questions

Post » Wed Feb 24, 2016 7:49 pm

OK, I've done everything at the drive-in that has been required, especially building the comm tower for the beacon and building a generator and switches and a submersible water pump etc. But the screen keeps telling me to build a generator and connect items requiring power to it! Well, I have built a generator, right next to the beacon and tower. I also installed a switch and it is in the "on" position. I guess I'm supposed to connect items needing power to it (very same problem occurring in Sanctuary) but I don't know what is necessary next. I've been collecting junk etc., and scrapped virtually everything scrappable at the drive-in and everywhere else, for that matter, and, apparently something is still missing and I don't know what, or how to hook things up to get them power from the generator. Since getting the radio beacon going is the only task left in the drive-in quest can someone give me a hint? This will help in Sanctuary as well.

Thanks!

You need to "Attach Wire" to powered items (Space on the PC).

So....look at unpowered item, hit [SPACE], look at Generator, hit [SPACE]. Done.

Or vice-versa, Generator -> Powered item.

WOW, that simple huh? Thanks, and where is that info available (aside from you) in the game?

When you "mouse" over the item it says "attach wire" in the menu at the bottom of the screen.

If you pause the game a menu should be displayed.

One of the menu choices is named help.

Under help there should be a number of entries that start with the abbreviation WSH for workshop.

One of those should be Wsh.-power which should display some text that can be scrolled through.

Like this pictured example.
