Start another RPG series blending TES and Fallout?

All of the above in this... http://www.palladiumbooks.com/WhatIsRifts.html
And its something I'd love to see Bethesda dive head first into.

*unfortunately... there is another RPG title using the word 'Rift' in the title. :(

I've played http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifts:_Promise_of_Power, it's a good game.

Every RPG made lately seems to be as far from reality as possible... I just wanted a more familiar setting with a mix of the fantastic. You could be an elf assassin prowling city rooftops/sewers under a cloak of invisibility. Or a redneck with a shotgun blasting weird creatures. Just think of the possibilities!

There is probably not a large market for fantasy/sci-fi set in a current location though.

Your idea kind of reminds me of the game Shadowrun. I'm sure any RPG that Beth makes would be amazing, in general.

By the way, Chuck is my favorite show. :tops:

If you want Beth to make this you have to ask yourself "Do I want this game more than TES6 or FO4?" Because they wouldn't make two games at a time...

The old Shadowrun games were like that. It would be cool to see another run. That multiplayer reboot they did a couple years back was garbage.

I dunno... I think if done correctly, and by the right developer (The 3 B's spring to mind), a proper RPG or action RPG set in the present day or near future could really work. Gritty streets, warehouses and office buildings have shown in shooters that they can lend themselves wonderfully to level design, either open world or on rails. Personally, the juxtaposition of mundane with surreal would be a (relatively speaking) fresh setting that could presumably set it apart from the same-old competition. And I don't care how it happens, personally... Cyberpunk, steampunk, superhero, Stargate-like galactic travel, alternate dimensions or realities, witchcraft, whatever!

I DO want this more than Fallout 4.

hmm... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I want there to be a game where it is set in modern times. no freaking apocalypse, no stinkin futuristic stuff, and even though my favorite era is the medieval era, I want them to try to put all their fantasy creatures in today's modern society. Like where we didn't know about them or the government was keeping them a secret and they finally were driven crazy by something and started showing up.

that sounded way better in my head...

The idea popped into my head after I started reading the Dresden Files series of books... I wish they would make a game like those :P

EDIT: The series already has a PnP RPG series so they just need to make a computer version!

I's love to see a steam-punk-[censored]-alien-tropical-[censored]-magical-fantasy combination theme.

That would rock.

I love to experience in-game environments, which I could not possibly experience anything nearly like them in real life.

Deus ex is already good for the cyberpunk.
A steampunk or Firefly kind of game would be great. Firefly only if it is done right.

adding fantasy and sci-fi, yes please. maybe like those old comic books (I don't remember the names, although I think Warlord or StarSlayer had this) where there were both elements
