On start up, I hear 1 second of the intro, then it crashes.

Hey, I'm new here(derp) and I have reinstalled Fallout 3 GOTY Edition on steam. I have gotten a new computer so I was hoping I was gonna be able to run it without a problem, but I can't even launch it for a minute. The startup menu comes up, asking data files, options, ect... But when I hit Play, Screen goes black, I see the windows blue spinny ring, and then it says "Fallout 3 has stopped working". The new PC is a 64bit Windows 7. I have done everything this video says, but it still crashes! I REALLY want to play this, but I CAN'T...(Its eating away at my soul every second...) If you need more specific optics, I will post it tomorrow. Untill then, please do your best to help solve this! D: (Sorry for the double post, how do I delete the other?)

First, please do not double post a thread.
Second...use the search function.
Third....check the posts....if you had done that before posting, than you would be able to play the game.
All you need to do is setting up the fallout.ini. Since you got a 64 Bit System, you also have a Dual or Quad Core.
So you need to tell the game, that it has to run with one (better choice) or maximum two cores.
There are more than five threads, where you can find a perfect explanation.
Since Fallout 3 is a little bit older, it has problems to run with computers with more than one Core.
Just stop being lazy and get the information yourself.

Now yes, you do need edit the Fallout INI. You need to edit the "busethreadedai=1" and add "inumhwthreads=2" under it
bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=2

If you cant fined it, try using the "search button". Fallout INI is in the text doc format and it has a search button.

If your going to downloads mod, you need the FOMM or Fallout Mod Manager. Each computer can handle mods, but it is different for every one. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/640/

Blue spinny ring? Is Games for Windows Live, because you can disable that. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/1086/

You might also, want to use your "disk defragger". I remember when I installed FNV and the menu icons did not appear. I defragged it and it worked. Not sure for F3, because I remember I played it, but without defragging. Loaded up longer, but it worked. Nonetheless, I suggest doing, because it allows your game to run faster and will reduce lag.

I have to sleep now. Hope it helps.
