Start an Oblivion file, or just wait until Skyrim?

Will I find it too old? I've been playing New Vegas, so I may (kind of like the feeling from playing F3 after NV, but worse?). I really want to play a middle-earth Fallout but am afraid I will get sick of it fast because of it's age. I have Oblivion GOTY, just haven't gotten around to playing it.

Also, it is just so close to Skyrim that I am thinking of just waiting. But then again, it's 4 months.

Are you playing on a console or a PC? How much do graphics affect your enjoyment of a game?

If you're picky about graphics and you're on a console, then I'd say skip it. The tone and style of Oblivion is a little less serious than the Fallouts. But just a little.

Otherwise, I say go for it. Having it on the PC opens up access to mods, which can basically allow you to make the game however you want it to be if you aren't satisfied with it unmodded.

If your concerns about its age are not because of the graphics, then I'd need more information to give accurate advice.

Oh sorry I am using PC. I really do not like to use mods, but if it only increased graphic quality and nothing else and does not cause any bugs or glitches whatsoever, I would consider it.

Mods are picky things, like as not you are bound to crash at least a coupe of times. Such is the nature of mods.
