Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 3:39 am

I have windows 7 ultimate. I installed the game and i run it on off line mode. When i start the game up it gives me the option to play. But when i click play the game opens to a black screen and immediatly after comes up with a noification saying Fallout 4 had stopped working and windows can check ............. you go online. What the can I do?

Post a dxdiag report, please.

Use the Search box or Run... box, type: cmd

In the command prompt, type:

dxdiag /t dxdiag.txt

Now go to the %userprofile% directory (C:\User\), find the dxdiag.txt file. Open the file. Select All. Copy and Paste its contents here in a reply. Use the spoiler tags, by either using the following:
[spoiler] dxdiag text [/spoiler]
or by clicking the icon (Special BBCode) next to Font menu, and selecting 'spoiler'.

You need to generate the report on the computer attempting to run Fallout 4, otherwise it is meaningless.

I went to the command prompt. It gives me the two top lines. Then a space then it says: C:\Users\User> what do i do from here. I am not great with pc hardware and software. I know very little of it.

Edit:

Enter the command after C:\Users\User>

C:\Users\User> dxdiag /t dxdiag.txt

***

In the command prompt when you enter the

dxdiag /t dxdiag.txt

command it will automatically save a dxdiag.txt document to the C:\users\ directory, where is your username used to login to the computer. For example: C:\users\John. Open the dxdiag.txt document and transfer it to a computer with Internet access. On that computer, open the file and select all and copy & paste its contents. Paste it in a reply.

Also you could upload the file to the Internet and post a link.
