Starting a New Character,help?

Why not? You can compare it, because it's part of the series. See the advantages & disadvantage of each game, compared to each other.

I was reffering to the point previously made about Skyrim not being part of the TES series.

What does any of this have to do with the topic, or the Oblivion forum, for that matter?

Not a personal attack but whatever... also read his first comment directed at me... pretty sure that was more than mine...

This has been a really strange night. Everyone needs to cool it. Person Wyrd, nothing personal, but from this observation post, you are where mirocu was a couple of weeks ago. Granted there is too much Skyrim here, but what blahs wrote wasn’t an attack. Read it again. And “undead dragon is just out of his element” isn’t a personal attack. It’s like saying “I don’t agree with you.” I’m kind of new around here and I do not like to see the swords and shields drawn every time someone says something out of line. I thought the moderators were supposed to take care of that stuff. There are a lot of snot nosed trolls on these forums, but if you let them get under your skin, it will not be fun to visit these threads any longer. That’s an opinion not an attack!, for what it’s worth. If I get banned for this post then I’ll go back to fishing. I have a nice freshwater canol in my backyard.

Agreed. I no longer enjoy the Skyrim discussion as much as I used to, because the standard 'SKYRIM IS THE WORST GAME EVER' crowd got to me. Sigh.
I think we should all get back on topic though. Next thing you know, this thread will be closed for being off-topic :)

Couldn't agree more about the Skyrim board but this really isn't on topic.

OT: Like I said before, Breton is definitely your best pick for race since he resists magicka and has a nice little boost in it as well.

In fact, I think Breton may be the BEST race in OB in terms of racial bonuses. I mean, he has two very powerful passive bonuses.

Yes, Breton is rather unbalanced in the game. The magic resistance is incredibly valuable to any kind of character, and it doesn't hurt to have the magicka boost, either. Once you get to high level, with attributes built up, Bretons make superior fighters and thief-types, as well as unbeatable mages.

For years (mainly in Morrowind) I played Breton warriors almost exlusively. In fact, they were such excellent warriors that playing them actually got to be kind of boring after a while. That taught me an important lesson: limitations can be interesting. I learned the ins and outs of gimping. Gimping sequed into roleplaying and once that happened I never looked back.

I owe it all to overpowered Bretons. ;)

I know that road well. :) I've actually gone full circle, now that I've learned how to gimp a Breton in ways that I can believe in, like my Nearsighted Necromancer, who can't see well enough to target anything.

The only way I could play a Breton was to mod out her magic resistance. It is just way too overpowered.

That's true. Even taking away all ranged attack (and thus most element of surprise) I find that Fitzie is far too durable. I doubt that I would want to play the character through a major quest line, because she would be boring. She's fun as a "character role-play," though. :)

I have the same problem playing a Dunmer in the Main Quest, because so much of the attack in the Deadlands is in the form of fire.
