Starting Out as a Kid?

It's doubtful considering all the different species a player can choose from. We also have to expect the tradition of starting out in a jail cell.

No, I think that would cripple Role-Players worse than jail. Because the game would then dictate your own backstory of "growing up in Skyrim"

I'm personally hoping for jail again and with a skippable tutorial at that.

NO.

I want to make my own back story and this is TES. It wouldn't be TES if you didn't start in jail for some reason or another.

This (except for the jail part).

It doesn't fit TES.

Didn't even want kids in the game. So no, I definitely don't wanna play as one.

How bout something we haven't already done?

No, I do not want to start out as a kid either. Fallout 3 did a great job with it but the circumstances involved in the vault made sense, but in Skyrim it has no place in the game IMO.

The prison theme is pretty cool but I prefer a different beginning, such as a begger or a working a farm under a harsh plantantion owner.

Nah because then we wouldn't be able to talk about ourselves dying on the forum

As for the idea of starting out as a kid: Nah...

No, I wanna start in the jail of some small town that gets blown up by a dragon. Macho tutorial, none of this growing up nonsense. Wanna learn to fight? Well tough luck, this is Skyrim. Here's a dragon.

You're just walking in the countryside ( for a reason unknown to us) and then a Dragon slams you into a rock. You're saved by a mage who barely manages to heal your serious injuries. However you've forgotten everything that's happened up to this point in your life.

Maybe not thaat specifiaclly, actually I'd want something better than "A dragon knocked you over", but the whole head wound/amnesia thing is something I'd want to see.

 Best reason for not stealing the Fallout 3 opening sequence.

The idea that kids have been introduced makes me wonder, will there be a tutorial of us growing up? I think it's plausible, whether I like it or not. What do you think?

This isn't Fable.

Starting as like say a teenager and watching your village get completely destroyed by a dragon would be good enough motivation for me to get out wanting revenge just to find out im the last dragonborn

I think the whole point of the prison starting point is so you can invent your own backstory. Which is one of my favorite things about the TES series. So no thanks.

I would say maybe an alternative to prison like maybe riding on a carriage or even a bar or tavern would work. As long as you can still craft your own backstory I don't care about the specifics.

wait...that kid idea gives me a speculation...maybe there is a "Fallout 3" like beginning...and you actually have family members that get killed in a dragon attack...and Esbern raises you...it would be cool

No. Starting off as a child would require too much dictating of the player's role. By that I mean it would become less your character and more BGS's character. Traditionally, the player has been able to decide on their own what their background story was going to be, if any.

Plus, it's tradition to start out at a prison.
