Hey im just curious to see if anyone has been able to sucessfully switch their character role?

I was more interested in the warrior type however this has changed.

Im wondering if it would be better to make a completely new character or if its possible.

But I fail to see the appeal of redoing everything just as a different race/"class".

Is it really that different?

How many perks have you put into skills that you don't want to use? That's the real question. If you have wasted perks, then I'd restart.

It can be REALLY different if you play a certain role ie warrior and stick to only those type of guilds for that character ie Companions guild. I started making a character to do everything, but he's quickly becoming more of a thief/assassin type and I may just stick with him being in those two guilds + main quest. There's so much in this game, I'm not against making a 2nd or 3rd character to get more out of it,especially with all the cool perks that are avaible that you can't get in one go like you could in Oblivion.

Just my 2 cents, Ive been considering re starting too. Both myself and OH play, we have been playing in different styles, me more battlemage him more mage, hes a hard leveler, Im more into the pure RP side. There are some quests I've been able to do which he hasnt even though Im higher level, mainly because I've been able to get in and hack and slash where he hasnt. Saying that this hasnt limited his game, it just means he has to get higher to do a couple, and I mean just a couple of quests. I have also reverted to a similar style of play to his due to my role play style and found out what Im at ease with in the game. I'll probably choose a hunter with some magicka. I mainly want to change because I find the style much more immersive and want to experience the game from the beginning in that style. I also want to change because I started my game impatiently and fast travelled about 30% of the time, again is more for the purity aspect, pure RP experience is what I want. Im at level 34, some of my skills are in their 60's, it hurts but I want to change now before I regret it.

I've been planning on doing all the different guilds, im not going to limit myself based on class choice.

But at the moment im 85 One-handed and 72 heavy but im only 45 block and 60 Archery so I feel that im somewhat viable to change to sneak assassin?

My only concern with starting over is im trying to complete all the achievements including getting level 50. Im level 34 at the moment.

I guess it comes down to what youre willing to sacrifice, you can just start a new charcter and come back to the old one for a change of pace. I just dont want to get so far into the game, know it all and feel no desire to and do it all over. I know what role I want to play and how I want to play it, I was considering this at level 10 and only decided now at 34, I found once I got over focusing on achievments the decision was easy, now I just want to enjoy the game and immerse myself more naturally into the world.
