Starting a Riot

Post » Thu Nov 19, 2009 2:42 am

Once i summoned something (i dont remember exactly what it was, one off those hovering things with a staff :unsure2: :unsure2: ) in the Imperial city market district, I then procceded to attack so that the summon would attack me back and the guards would fight it. (I just wanted to know who would win) Any way it turns out a few of the gaurds must of hit each other whilst attacking my sommon because after it was dead a huge riot took place with atleast 20 gaurds and then because the were attacking each other, more gaurds joined in. When it was over there were a hell of alot of dead bodies and my character just standing there. So i went to the next area of the Imperial city and did it all over agian :P

Anyone else ever done this?

No, but now that you've given me the idea, I will!

I've seen riots before, in-game, but they were on YouTube. I've always been careful in my game, so it's never happened.

I've created riots by accident and on purpose! You shoulda saw the one where my elf-mage walked around Cheydinhal invisible (she had a huge bounty), and then she broke this by summoning a daedroth right in the town common! There was suddenly so much action, it was hard to keep track of it all. At the end, there were lots of dead guards & NPCs, though! :(

Here's a way to really make things interesting....

Spoiler

...it's interesting when NPCs who have a good disposition towards you react. They'll sometimes join in the fight AGAINST the guards and stuff.

Yes! On my first play-through I managed to start a riot in the Imperial City in much the same fashion (although I was summoning a scamp to soul trap him IIRC, I didn't know the guards would join the fight).

I was only level 5 or 6 at the time, so I kind of watched in awe as the guards duked it out. I somehow managed to walk away from the whole thing without any bounty and a full set of Imperial armor.

The best riots occur when you can manage to get several mages involved who summon Daedra of their own because often those Daedra will get attacked by someone on accident and the brawl becomes almost self sustaining!

I accidentally sparked a riot in a certain city, at a certain point in the MQ when there are a lot more guards there than usual. Quite a show.

This seems to be the ultimate goal...getting an entire town brawling while just sitting back somewhere, watching the meltdown go on and on!

Time to promote what's probably my all-time favorite pure entertainment mod -- http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3821%29

There's SO much fun that can be had with that mod.

I usually start riots by casting Frenzy on random NPCs.

I've never had a RIOT, but for some reason, the guards were attacking a random citizen, then one guard with a bow misses and hits another guard  then all the guards there just horde around one guard, and kill him... Then I loot his body and sell everything :D

The first time I got into the Arcane University the first thing I did was create the following spell:

Frenzy up to level 50 over 10 foot for 10 seconds on target, Invisibility on Self for 10 Secs.

Step outside, cast it on the class of mages having a lesson.

Sit back and watch the fun (don't forget to open the gates so the battlemages can get in!)

That spell must cost a-lot of Mula Magicka.

Not with the Supreme Magicka mod :).

Plus my illusion/luck is pretty high, so its managable.

I started kind of a riot just now, but it had bad results. I was really close to levelling up in light armour, so I summoned a Daedroth, hit it a couple of times and let it hack away at me. When I levelled, I ran into the fighters guild to let them finish it off, the porter just stood there and said 'If you don't mind leaving, I have things to do' as usual. But the other guild members rallied to my cause and fought the Daedroth, unfortunately, Rhano got KO'd in about 3 hits and comically fell behind a crate never to be seen again, and Hurwen got punched in the face by the Daedroth.

I got teleported out of the building and arrested for murder, stupid watch. I had to cough up 1000 gold, not only that, but I had to collect 20 bear pelts to be reinstated into the guild! Unbelievable Jeff!

Frenzy is cheap. Don't know how much Supreme Magicka changes it but you can do this with a Journeyman illusion and 72 magicka without it. (SM changes the lvl value, without it you can only make a frenzy up to lvl 25, it will still affect everyone as long as you are not wearing armor when you cast it)

Well, the survivors from the desolate mine and the mine guards from Lord Drad's estate both appeared after I was arrested outside Leywain(I meant to talk to him, that stupid thing was in the way, I didn't mean to steal it!). The mine guards started fighting the fighter's guild members, but not me, because of their high disposition. Eventually, the guards got involved, leaving all of the mine guards, the Coutness' bodyguard, a city watch member, and both survivors from the Desolate Mine dead.

the arena guy is good for starting a riot. In my game his aggresion didnt reset upon death. The guards helped me take him out, so he was really pissed and didnt stop until all guards where dead. Some guards hit each other wich ended in a huge free for all, with only the arena guy left standing. First then he lost his bloodlust and went back inside

A good frenzy spell is quite fun :goodjob:

One of the things I've discovered is that if you leave a bunch of weapons on the ground, rioters will pick them up to fight guards.

I once had an experience that might have qualified as a riot (though personally, I'd call it a cluster-f***):

I was riding up to Bravil one day, and a Will-O-Wisp appeared. Of course, I didn't want to fight it, so I kept riding. It chased me all the way up to Bravil, where the real problem started. I had picked up two wolves and a mountain lion on the way, and it formed a big Benny Hill train of death. Nearby NPCs wanted to fight, and the Wisp retaliated. All in all, it left my horse, the guy who works at the stables, the wolves, the mountain lion, and two guards dead. I gave them all a ceremonious shove off the bridge.

oddly enough, when i tried frenzy that didnt work either.

This morning I tested out the frenzy spell. I think it only works in inns. But I cast it in the merchants inn when there were like 6 people inside and they all started fighting eachother. Some of them moved outside to flee and the fight moved outside, all of it. Then the guards singled out the innkeeper and killed him. By then the frenzy wore off and everybody else went about their business. I was laughing so hard!

The Benny Hill reference made me LOL :) I've had a very similar thing happen on the way to Bravil from Leyawin. Think it was a Troll, two mountain lions, and a boar, then two guards in my case.

I wonder . . . if you just kept riding around Cyrodil, pausing occasionally to let stragglers catch up, how many monsters could you accumulate into a "convoy." Put Yakkety Sax to it as a theme song and you'd have one heckuva good video.

I think I've only made it up to 5 "followers". Eventually some of them wind up fighting one another (wolf versus bandit..etc), or an Imperial shows up.

Other creatures also wind up falling behind. Like if you've got a bunch of rats & imps following you, and then a wolf shows up, well the wolf is faster than everyone else, so assuming you're not going to fight it, you'll have to run faster than the wolf, which means the slower creatures fall behind.

I do that all the time!!!! Its so fun!! I do it to get armor or weapons without gaining bounty. Another good riot which creates a bounty is go to te temple district and go through the gate leading to the water front. There should be a horse there. Now wait for someone to come bye and steal the horse then they will attack you then ride onto the pirate ship so the pirates join in fight (if they aren't dead yet from u) one other way I know is in chorrol at rimalus bruliants house (however u spell it) aka "The Dog People" around 8pm or so is u break into the house and make sure the guy is up then he will attack the dogs till they die and sometimes he glitches with the door and makes a huge ticking noise for a while but anyway he attacks the dogs so his wife attacks him he will attack her and the dogs then guards eventually step in but you will only get a bounty of 5 gold so the dogs will mist likely die along with the man but the wife usually never dies it's soo fun try it!!
