So on the plus side, EA decided to give us offline split-screen. On the down side, the multiplayer is shaping to be just like Battlefield's instead of previous Battlefronts*. And there is no SP campaign.
No word on Galactic Conquest yet, and I'm not sure if the offline split-screen is only for the "missions" (READ: multiplayer matches with bots ala Unreal Tournament 3) or if there is proper offline multiplayer with bots.
I'm still worried about this game. Between EA having a history of screwing up the simplest of tasks (and with this being the age of microtransactions, probably "adjusting" the game to "encourage" players to spend more money), and DICE releasing super-buggy games (Battlefield 4 at launch and for months after), I have a feeling this game is going to anger a lot of fans.
Please note that I didn't get all this from the article. I'm just taking the time to share my feelings on the game.
*As in, it's progression based. For those of you unaware, the original games has a system where you unlocked new classes and weapons during the match by killing the enemy's units. This put everyone on level ground at the start. It also meant that you could hop in a game at any time and not worry about being "underlevel" (like in Payday 2, where many are level 30+ with all the good equipment and you have nothing). If you can't tell, I hate progressions systems in multiplayer.
