StarX Vanilla Vampires Revised

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:33 am

Thanks Core! I just checked and as I suspected OOO seems to add new spawnpoints to places like fort Redwater. I'll disable those and will use the method I described earlier to create the patch.

EDIT: The cell changes for the chests are nice in Ziggy's patch, as I don't have to hunt those down anymore. So I'll keep those for my own patch. I'll undo the faction changes though.

EDIT: Shot you a PM back at the TA forums, Core!

I will work on the Npc's for you then.

On the OOO Vanila Vampires, Have them bashed with Both OOO Buff Spells and SVVR Spells and Effects..Just need to sort out inventory and that part of updated patch will be done once again..The power of bash..

SVVR spells and inventories requires a bit of attention on the NPC's. There are for instance specific spells for stealthy vamps, warriors and mages. On inventory: some of the armors don't have a male version (Sinbloods vampire outfits for example). :)

Now that I think about it, it's probably best to create the OOO patch myself: remove all OOO "vanilla" spawn points and add the right SVVR faction (depending on their location) to the named vampire bosses. Maybe even add some OOO powers/stats to the SVVR vamps. Does that sound good?

Excellent. :) It also proves why I shouldn't mess with the patch...

While CorePC is working on the OOO/FCOM patch I can focus on the main file once again. I asked this before but it got a bit snowed under by the other stuff:

Does anyone have trouble with the map marker for the secret entrance not appearing after talkin to Phelliam (your contact for the Vampire Hunters Guild)?

Nope, but most of the great looking female stuff has been created by Sinblood. Search around on Nexus a bit and you'll find it.

Very strange. I can't figure out why this wouldn't happen, as the map marker gets added to the map after the questupdate. I'll investigate some more. Thanks for responding.

Doh, Vampire Lord is not in play..

For the OOO/FCOM Unwimppage and Buff powers on SVVR Vampires do you have a rank listing from weakest to Highest in Clan.

Has I was going to go ahead and do that since their is really not than many anyways for the OOO/FCOM Patch..

There aren't really much ranks, it's more like three main classes: stealthy vamps, warriors and mages. Though the brutes are stronger versions of the warriors. The matriarchs and patriarchs follow the same route but are of course much stronger than the normal vampires. There are some named bosses as well, which should be around the same level as patriarchs.

EDIT: nope, the vampire lord was one of my first tests. Left him there because I felt bad about deleting him!

Okay that answer that Classes define them. That make it little easier has

OOO has Class based Vampires has well in OOO ex: Deadly Vampire Nightblade, while SVVR has ex: Serentin Nightblade..

I will just match up what I can for UnWimpage and Buff spells on SVVR based off OOO Version.

That sounds good. UnWimpage (is that even a word?) is mainly done by upping their max level I suppose, because at lower levels surviving a SVVR vampire encounter should be lethal.

No level adjustment I like fighting lvl 20 plus at lvl 3 LOL..

According to OOO UnWimpage is a word to no longer make them a wimp..

Unwimpage Spells = Ablility "foritfy health X amount" < it will just give them a boost to health all the time to make them harder.

Buff spells = Abilities " Fority Skill: Blade, Blunt, Block" < increased skills in these areas all the time

more than lethal enough..

this may help with the map marker issue:

Vampire Hunter Guild quest stage 30 = ShowMap STXSecretEntranceMarker

the map marker (010016F0)at the guild is not named
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm125/whirlin/HunterGuildMapMarker.jpg
STXSecretEntranceMarker (010118DB) seems to be a different map marker.

IIRC Sinbloods outfits were based on BAB. It shouldn't really matter as they cover the whole body to avoid clipping.

Hey Starx how about some new screenies for this release, like some shots of the outfits, and a few moody pics, because I tried to talk about this mod to a friend and he hypntized by the images of Unholy Drakness from Madmole

The problem is that I really don't play at the moment, I only go to southern Elsweyr to playtest my Senchal mod. But that doesn't stop the people using SVVR from making screenshots by themselves. The coolest pics can be used for TESNexus and a thread right here. :foodndrink:

EDIT: Just tested out the map marker myself and it appears flawlessly. I only unchecked "can fast travel to" so not sure if that's what's fixed it. On the other hand I don't hope people can't find the mapmarker because they are used to vanilla quest handholding, as you have to look on your map a bit to find it.

Just to make sure I uploaded the esp to filefront to confirm that it works in other peoples game as well.

Important: Please use a saved game BEFORE talking to Phelliam, because the marker gets added after talking to him and you get a questupdate. And remember there is NO magical quest navigation system, just check out your map and find the marker to the secret cave entrance.

http://www.filefront.com/17088745/StarX%20Vanilla%20Vampires%20Revised.7z

EDIT: updated the esp to change the name of the marker from just Secret Entrance to Vampire Hunters Guild Secret Entrance. As I figured that could be confusing as well!

um, well, uh...funny you should mention that...

downloaded the new esp and it works! and so does the old one!

definitely user error. i did miss finding it the first time. i am sure Theclonerman (post #140) is missing it like i did. i reinstalled the 2.1 esp and the marker appears after talking with Phelliam...and i fast traveled there and entered the secret door. so this new filefront esp is not needed. very sorry about that mistake. so the good news is that i verified some of your users are idiots. ;)

edit: spoiler http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm125/whirlin/HuntersEntrance.jpg of the hunter's entrance. how could we miss it?

Nah, blame Beth for dumbing down the game with a navigation system that's even more advanced than that in a modern day car. ;) But I guess it helps to change the name of the marker, as "Secret Entrance" sounded a bit to generic and can easily be missed. This esp also gets rid of several other dirty edits (nothing gamebreaking, but dirty nevertheless!) and will be used for the next (and probably final) update for SVVR.

http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/533-starx-vanilla-vampires-revised/

Some details:

Cleaned the esp from unwanted edits and changed the name of the mapmarker of the secret entrance to the Vampire Hunters Guild in a less generic name so it's easier to spot. Includes a brand new OOO-FCOM patch made by CorePC based on Ziggy's original patch so there should be no more fighting among factions. Note that the Light of Dawn will still not work with SVVR vampires as that fix will be implemented in future updates of OOO.
