StarX Vanilla Vampires Revised

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 4:20 am

Woohoo! I'm still mentally healthy (well, for this part at least)! Thank you! :D

I also fixed a lot of the errors that popped up when opening the esp in the CS and added more hairstyles to the races to fix the bug in the character creation screen. This is all purely bug fixing to make the recent mod as clean and bug free as possible. Coming this week I will update the file on Nexus and split the file into meshes/textures/esp.

Nice. :) I loaded the esp that comes with the TES Nexus archive and got this note:

[00:14] Background Loader: [00:14] Background Loader:

They weren't removed by Remove or Undelete either, so manual removal needed. Exactly as said in the special instructions.

Well, doesn't matter since you don't have them so nothing to delete.

I must have fixed it with the CS when adressing the CS error warnings before running it through TES4Edit, as I indeed get to see those when I run TES4Edit on the "out-of-the-box" nexus file.

Yeah, good things come to those who can wait.
Been playin' your vampires as they were for more than a year and finally, do I dare hope? :D

Quick question: I want to include Chris_1979's verion of http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27421 so every vampire (also non SVVR) will go up in flames. This needs OBSE. What do you guys think?

Would make the mod dependent on obse? still people out their that do not use obse why I do not know. So you have to think about that crowd per say or forget about them and make obse required.

If Chris version can be turned on and off then that would be better.

If people want effects to extend to all vampries they just need to turn on that feature and make sure they have obse running.

My input about that..

I agree with Corepc, though if it came down to one or the other I'd say go with OBSE. Ideally a choice is best, but we don't always live in an ideal world, ha ha! :D

That, and OBSE rocks... Core said it best: "still people out their that do not use obse why I do not know."

I always use OBSE but I agree with Corepc. Seems a bit unnecessary to make the entire mod dependent on OBSE because of a single feature. Perhaps it could be bundled as an optional? I'm using both and it seems to work perfectly - no idea if there might be some issues with running both, though.

EDIT: Perhaps it can be set up as the swap script for Light of Dawn in OOO? If you have OBSE it will take advantage of it, but it also works w/o OBSE. Seems pretty much ideal if it can be implemented.

I say include it. I didn't even know there were people here who didn't use OBSE. I mean, why wouldn't you use it? It enables you to use a ton of awesome mods with no cost at all to the user.

I'm the one who wrote that note, so I'm glad it was accurate but I'm more glad it's been taken care of. When the new version is released I will be sure to change the wiki. Thanks!

Oh, and I also say go with OBSE dependency all the way! The only people who can't use it are Direct2Drive people, and those people need to be taught a lesson anyway for using a completely inferior digital distribution site...but anyway, why punish 95% of users for the 5%'s problems? There's enough of that in government, but I digress twice.

Thanks for the input, guys. For now I decided to leave the death sequence as it is as the standalone version can be used alongside SVVR without a problem as it seems. I splitted SVVR in different archives, so I don't have to upload one big megafile. If anyone has some nice SVVR screenshots I would appreciate it if they were uploaded to Nexus. Expect the newly uploaded files soon, so they can be tested if everything is still alright. :foodndrink:

EDIT: Sigh, Nexus and uploading is terrible. I get an error everytime. I'll see if I can host the large files on TESA.

Thanks, StarX.
ATM only esp file available on Nexus, will update when I get the missing files. Link?

Do you mean that your new esp does not include the StarX way of vampires dying?
Which is the best standalone SVVR death then? Link?

Thanks for trimming this excellent mod!

1. It will be the same as with the current release, i.e. only the StarX vamps will have the burning death animation.
2. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27421. Requires OBSE and extends the vampire deaths to all vampires.

They seem to work fine together and I guess they should as OBSE is taking over dealing with the animations.

Otherwise I guess you just have to be patient, waiting for StarX to finish the uploads. :)

Yup, that's all true! The files are already uploaded to TESA by FTP (thanks to Darkrider) and will probably be available tonight once I upload the esp there as well. I wanted to make some last alterations in the readme/description, but it was getting late. :snoring:

Man, this all sounds great to me! Thanks for putting in the work, StarX and Arkngt. I never intended for that when I started this thread, but man, what a cool thing to grow out of it!

Looking forward to the download!

Yean it so great that this mod can finally be finished and Im guessing bug free too, I have been following MadMole′s vampire mod too, but I especially like this one because it wasnt just to become a vampire character, it added great value to a player who wanted to join the vampire hunters and also to have a real challenge when fighting vamps and those magnificent revamped vampire lairs. I suggest that when the upload′s finished to add the RELZ to the thread so more people can get t learn about this

Hehe, you guys were faster than I was! :foodndrink:

But I'm gonna say it myself as I like to shout a lot:

Get the updated version of http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/533-starx-vanilla-vampires-revised/

Major kudos to Darkrider for being my favorite host that's there when needed! :foodndrink:

Anyway the Nexus file has only the esp and a mirror to TesAlliance for the required resources. It's still at the same spot: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16417

Keep me posted on any strange stuff you come across with the new file!

Cheers,

StarX :foodndrink:

I believe this warrants a new thread of its own, like SVVR, the Return :D Great job to all involved.

Lol, thanks but no new thread please! :bolt:

I'll open a thread for Elsweyr: The City of Senchal soon, which will take up most of my forum time. I really don't want to manage two large threads, but any reported bugs for the updated SVVR reported right here (not on Nexus) will be adressed sooner or later. I did this mainly for the peeps that still enjoyed SVVR after all this time and because I felt a bit guilty about just leaving SVVR in a state I didn't like.
