Stat burning/boosting

Well, currently I'm working on a mod that offers a ring that allows you to go past the 100 limit on skills and stats. However it has a price. Currently for every 5 points you burn on a stat, you get 3 back as a permanent magical bonus, same goes for all skills. (which can be turned off if you just want stats to be burned. It's all or nothing).

A second part of the mod, is since luck is so slow that there's an alternate way to boost it. A secondary ring will burn stats permanently to give you luck, right now 7 burned and 4 back.

Initial tests are promising, and leave weaker for a while until you build your stats back up.

Thoughts and ideas?

interesting to say the least.

so i'd have to have a 5x multiplier or i get nothing at level up? (past 100 that is)

how exactly do skills work as you only get one at a time?

i'm not too sure about the luck part though, unless you gave a believable description of how the magic worked in game.

Note quite. I'll describe what i have so far. I've created 2 misc rings (You can't enchant/sell them). You put on the ring(s) (suggested 1 at a time) and they activate every 3 seconds. During the 3 seconds, if all your stats (in a group) qualify, it burns a certain amount permanently. (you can change the minimum, and the rate burned/returned, and it notes the actual number later if you want to fix it manually). The bonuses are given in the form of powers/curses. When you take the ring(s) off, how it is is how it will stay. Since it actually tracks every stat it burns, if you change the ratio's, then once you put the ring on again it will update your bonuses retroactively.

There's a small window when you put the ring on and when it starts burning your stats that the bonuses are turned off, if you just want to burn some skills/stats but keep track of them. In order to minimize scripts and spells, I've grouped skills that share what stat(s) they affect, Like Intelligence & Wisdom, Strength & Endurance, Stats & Personality. The bonuses are binary based, so 8 spells will cover a bonus up to 255, which only takes about 40 spells to cover everything.
