stat site is kinda pointless

There is a K/D in MAG, there is far less help in that game to make people go to objectives. You all have to figure it out yourself and guess what. There is a lot more team play and objective based gameplay as in Brink. How do you explain that?

The good advantages MAG has that brink doesn't, which make more of a difference than K/D tracking.

A solid base of experienced players (impossible with a brand new IP - MAG took a while to build up, and its community was pretty disorganised at first), and the more important part...

USER-FRIENDLY SYSTEMS FOR TEAM COORDINATION.

SD, you might want to work on that one. GIVE US A WAY TO JOIN FRIENDS BEFORE THE MISSION STARTS!!!

Yeah I know, but MAG was a new IP as well I believe, no?.. although they might already had a solid Socom community. The thing is in MAG they didn't gave you a lot of help to show how to play as a team, but it came naturally because of the lobby's and all that crap, and with SD it's quite the opposite, way too much info/almost impossible to not go for objectives but no lobby's or any clan support whatsoever :/ Which is a sad thing. We have a saying "Goed begonnen is half gewonnen", which means if you have a good start, 'winning!!!' will follow quite inevitably. That's where SD dropped the ball. I don't know what was in their minds to release a game that is ALL about teamwork but they give us nothing to work with. And I'm afraid it's already too late. :/

Yeah...

It WAS a new IP. It wasn't until it got established that the community became good - although, thanks to a much easier system of partying up than Brink has, its community got together fairly fast.

Note the way my previous post mentions "MAG took a while to build up" - Brink's will too.

No W/L ratio = fail. In a game going on about the importance of teamwork and winning, not having this stat is down right stupid imo. Not even gonna bother entering the code.

please correct me if im wrong but the only stat that is any indicator of how well you play is the average xp and im sure mine has been killed from trying to find lag free games.

no K/D and no Win/Loss?

i understand they dont want to emphasize on K/D because it is a objective based game but the rest of these stats seem pretty meaningless since they just go up over time

so what is the point? i would like to see how well i play not how many (insert meaningless stat here) ive accumulated over time

Yeah man the stats are whack.
I only have one Engineer character and it's saying I have 160k exp. when really I have over 200k wth?
Same goes with the rest of my characters/classes. I have one character for each class and all of their stats are honestly so far from right.
Well, the stats site was a disappointment for me. I kinda expected it though. lol

Knowing number of kills per MATCH, yes. But no K/D.

AS YOU JUST SAID... It will CHANGE HOW PEOPLE PLAY THE GAME.

It makes people IGNORE objectives and focus on KILLING, then on NOT DYING, then maybe do an objective if it's not too much trouble...

It already tracks number of kills. Awesome. Now give us win/loss stats, and I'll be happy. So no, OP, I'm not totally against some stats that are "missing" being added. But there's plenty of reason why K/D is a bad idea in a game based on teamwork and objectives. I haven't been able to access the stats site yet though, so I'm not sure about some things. Does it track your average XP per session? If so, that's what I want to see most.


yes i see your point but i disagree that this community would hold K/D as your most important stat like other games. if some troll came onto these forums and even mentioned his k/d ratio they would get flamed so fast. if anyone even mentions k/d everyone gets there panties in a bunch. i wish i hadnt even mentioned it because i honestly think it would be a minor stat but nice to know in conjunction with other stats. for example if i avg 8000xp 30 revives and 2.5 k/d and 2 objectives then i am a beast. unfortunately avg xp is the only stat that is on there.

avg xp is a good stat but i dont play for xp. i play to win and there isnt any W/L. alot of times i know i can switch class and get the objective but if i stay medic and buff/revive till we lose i would get more xp and boost my stats and look like a better player under this stat system. xp is not everything, no stat is everything, even W/L. that is why i would like to see more than just avg xp.

there are alot of people who do play only for xp and it isnt always helpful to win the game and i think that is a problem since they use up their supplies as fast as possible then die intentionally to rinse and repeat and pay no attention to trying to push forward or take any objective or shoot someone because the only stat that is valued here is xp which can be boosted just like any other stat

i honestly dont care that much about k/d i would just like to see more than just avg xp. MOST IMPORTANTLY WIN/LOSS on each map
