Static level mod

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:32 pm

Hey all,

I'm looking for a mod that works with all the official plug-ins and SI that puts caps npc levels(or just gives them one static level). I found the NPC Static level mod but that only works with the vanilla game. Any suggestions? By the way I know about OOO and the other one that's a part of FCOM, but those mods change too much of the game for my liking.

Understand where you're coming from - I've played OOO + Fcom from day one, so I wanted a more vanilla experience (actually less shiny stuff).
I haven't found a better one. But I am using MMM + http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2272 + NPC Static Levels and so far I'm very happy with it. I'm only playing with SI however and I'm only 56 hours in (lvl 6, very slow leveling stats) so I'm not sure how it will turn out - only MMM is touching SI, and I haven't been there yet.
This is interesting:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31383, there's this too: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32192 - but I didn't like aspects of them, so I pulled some stats out and made my own esp.

I would love to see a complete static overhaul mod though - stats, levels and loot are all that need to be done - no extra stuff.

You could use WryeBash to import npc levels from OOO (or any other leveling mod that you like the sound of) without actually using it in-game.

edit: I played a lot using NPCstatic level and G__'s loot mod and found that combo very satisfactory.

You could also try using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23322 or a similar "choose when you level" mod, and just level up to your desired "cap", then go play. The world would then be "static".

You would still find the slight variation that you find in vanilla, but at least the levels wouldn't continue to grow.

There really isn't anything like this that exists, everyone swears by fcom and ooo and such so there is no motivation to make something more vanilla like. I have been using frans forever since it was the closest thing to a vanilla only experience but it has it's share of bugs and it no longer updated. But it does cover SI, so I deal with it.
