If the timelines diverged before the Stratoshere was built, how has it been built?

I was thinking this myself,but the time line may have diverged but i suppose in the this alternative world it was built,im sure they will have reasonable explanation for it.

What makes you think the world of Fallout is different in every possible way from the real world? And who's to say it's the Stratosphere? Maybe it's the Thermosphere or the Troposphere.

I doubt the Divergence changed everything.
Or that the devs just wanted something really Vegas in there, like the Jefferson Memo in D.C.

I'm guessing the Statosphere will be the main boss's headquarters.

I suppose just because the timeline diverged doesn't mean everything has to be radically different. I think it's a very reasonable assumption that some things would still be done at least similarly to how they were actually done. :shrug:

The Stratosphere Tower probably is like the Washington Monument or White Gold Tower: Something tall and iconic that acts as a distantly visible landmark.

I think it's safe to say that even in the technological advancing world of Fallout, in Vegas, Bigger still meant better. Whether or not its the actual stratosphere or just a similarly shaped and built building is irrelevant, it's still Vegas

Ya, it wouldn't be a bad idea to ahve some sort of tower. Given the terrain in the trailer, one could see (and shoot) an awful long way from that tower.

Its not the statosphere.

■The name "Lucky 38" is a reference to the 38 numbers on a roulette table. The sign looks like a stylized Roulette wheel and betting layout, and the tower top is modeled after a Roulette wheel.
■The building resembles the real life Stratosphere Las Vegas, as well as the former real-life Landmark Hotel and Casino.

There are only so many ways to make a tall ornate cylidnrical spire like building that is made out of concrete and is suitable for a gambling mecca. The Lucky 38 has passing resemblence to the Stratoshpere, but only so far as overall shape. The main difference is the Stratoshpere is a Spire with a room on top and the Lucky 38 is a Roulette Wheel Spinner, with a Buidling on Top.

I am sure that the Stratoshpere was the inspiration for the Lucky 38.
