Stats don't matter or "Style over Substance."

Post » Fri Feb 21, 2014 1:12 am

I rarely wear a "matching set" or even a "custom fit", but dammit, I just like the look of some of the mixed armors in the game.

Here's one example. Lydia and me:

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/arkanSTFU/mix2_zps828a2334.png

Plate armor with leather boots and thieves guild gloves (with an added black trim, wolf cloak, of course). It just seems to go so well together. Actually, a lot of the armors seem to go well with leather boots/bracers. Steel, elven, even glass.

Let's see some of yours?

Aesthetics &--#62; Stats.

Guild Master Armor with Dark Brotherhood Mage Hood.

I never get matching set because I never wear helmets.

I think he means the enchants and the armor rating.

I generally focus on effectiveness, not aesthetics. My Redguard and his follower wear dwarven armor, supplemented by dragon priest masks. And my Khajiit vampire wears a DP mask with his Deathbrand.

Well, I can't vouch for anyone's fashion sense here.

That's a pretty interesting combo. I might look into it when I'm high enough level. May trade in my timerwolf cloak for a black wolf cloak.

The cuirass is the ebony mail instead of the normal ebony piece actually. /happy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' /> I liked the look of it more,

custom fit, matching set, well fitted or any of the perks besides juggernaught and agile defender... are all wasted perks. if you smith and/or enchant you can wear whatever you want plus have the stats... have your cake and eat it too or some such thing

Well don't mix ugly with ugly for a start. Not sure what you were thinking with those bracers, gawwwd... Your outfit is something of an open wound where attire is concerned /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I prefer light Stalhrim. Now THAT'S sixy. But nothing can possibly hope to top Nordic Carved.

The weapons I think are beautiful. But I don't know about Nordic armour... I think it's worn off on me. I love Dawnguard Armour to be honest.

I'm just a tad too OCD to mix-and-match armor sets like some of you, but I definitely ignore stats and go for the better looking armor/clothing and weapons.

I like stats, but I chose looks over power. Lucky for me, I love the way the best armors look.

I don't know what you're talking about. It looks pretty cool to me. I personally hate mix matching armor, but that looks pretty cool for mix match armor.

I'm going to have to go with Bonemold being the best looking but that's me being a dunmer fan.

anyway the bonus added in the perk is kinda useless so just go with what you want.

I think I'm this. I wouldn't dream of mixing armours.

Hmm. Well, I wouldn't go to the Blue Palace dressed like that.

I'm the same way, although I don't know if I'm OCD or not for it. I just hate mix matching things. For me, my armor needs to actually match. Just doesn't look right to me otherwise.

The leather and steel plate doesn't look half bad. One set up I used to use was the Royal Vampire armor added by Dawnguard and the Steel Imperial gauntlets and boots. Looked pretty good to me.

I must admit, TC, that assortment of armor looks pretty dang tight.
