Stealing everything in sight

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 6:17 pm

I'm kinda bored waiting for Skyrim :celebration: sooo...

Any of you have the urge the steal virtually everything of value when thieving? I know i really can't forgo that 2 gold silver fork/spoon/whatever when im thieving, i just have to take everything! :D Even worthless items; i take them to throw in my Imperial City house as some kind of hideout. Makes me feel good :) And i just LOVE/ADORE/AM ADDICTED to stealing food, no idea why.

Depends. Yea, I've had a couple characters go on a little spree. I think Lou Zehr (Redguard thief type dude who's game I haven't touched in months) stole all the silverware in Bruma Castle or something. It's fun but even my diehard thief characters eventually get bored stealing mundane stuff (and I consider silverware to be mostly mundane).

I get what you're saying though. :jammasterjay: Tonight's gonna be an interesting gaming session for sure.

That's funny, when Rayn's kelptomania gets the better of her she usually steals everything except food. (Including plates worth one gold!) She hasn't stolen anything for a long time though, I think that part of her life has passed.

Food and most containers respawn of course, but as long as I play a character, I find stealing items that are sitting out can render the game a rather. . . sparse place. My character is more likely to spruce up a guild hall or someone's house by adding extra shinies to look at rather than steal the ones that are already there.

Besides, she's a mage so of course money is easy.

Yea, thats a downside, when i steal all the silverware in guilds the food respawns directly on the table :cryvaultboy:

When Lothran was young he pretty much stole everything in sight to earn some septims. Little did he (and I) know that money in Cyrodiil is very easy to come by. All his stolen stuff was the main reason for him to travel to Bruma once he got out of Imperial City. As some of you may know, going to Bruma was the best thing he ever did ^_^

Nowadays he rarely takes anything, simply because nothing he ever finds can top his self-made things, or things given to him. I′m looking at you, Buffy!

Artemisia likes stealing food too. But that is because you do not have to fence it afterward. You can just cook it up into potions. Or eat it. Anything else and she has to trudge all the way up to Bruma and wake up poor Ongar to unload. That poor man is so tired!

She also likes pickpocketing guards, and stealing their keys. Even when she doesn't plan on breaking into their barracks. It is just fun.

My characters don’t steal stuff unless it is required by a quest. Neither do they pick up free items laying around in the world, except during the tutorial. However, they do take one free thing out of barrels, specifically: Torches.

If you’re going to play the game for a long time, it is better to leave everything in place. You don’t gain that much gold from it anyway. Just go raid some cave instead.
