Stealth and its flaws

Post » Tue Feb 25, 2014 9:35 pm

How come its been almost 2 years since announcement yet I haven't seen anywhere people that even mention stealth mechanic.

I think stealth will cause ALOT of grief. Just look at Guild Wars 2* where there only ONE class has/can maintain stealth for long/almost permanent. Now take it to full scale stealth in ESO.

Personally I dont mind the stealth mechanic, it adds alot to the game both PvE and PvP**, but to apply it to the whole players in PvP?...

Just think about the fact that a WHOLE ZERG of players can easily surprise-stealth-attack any keep and any enemy group of players in plain sight of daylight! thats bullsh*t.

what happened to Oblivion & Skyrim rational stealth only in the shadows/night? that atleast could have balanced it. I mean, seriously? cant you see how flaw stealth is as it's at?

Thats just a recipe for disaster. Take my word on it.

NOTE:

* I played GW2 (Elementalist) 1 month after release, for a year. I played alot in WvWvW and I know stealth.

** I think stealth is ok in PvE for all classes, but in PvP only Nightblade should have it or atleast nerf others and boost Nightblade stealth.

*** I haven't played in beta.

**** I'll be playing a High Elf Sorcerer so I'm not trying to boost "my" class (in case you thought I'm going for Nightblade).

Obviously you never got 100 sneak in skyrim, I could assassinate a bandit and his buddy next to him wouldn't even know what happens despite looking right at me.

You will have serious problems sneaking an raid group close to an enemy. Not sure how it works but I understand that it will not be practical.

Yes it will work to avoid long distance detection

It take stamina to move while sneaking.... no class is going to be able to "sneak across the map" and attack an enemy keep.

I hope it will be harder than that to stealth in ESO...

So you say a zerg of XX AD players cant stealth attack EP that lay siege on a keep?

Thank you for mentioning it. Good to know that a zerg cant sneak across the map unseen.

Oh look, a constructive comment!

I'm not hiding the fact that I didn't played in beta nor am I ashamed of it, I'm just expressing my concerns about stealth mechanic as it seems from a non-beta tester future-player like myself.
