Stealth boy

Hi there, I found something called 'Stealth Boy' and when used it seems to make me invisible, but for some reason after I choose to attack a Deathclaw, all the surrounding Deathclaws suddenly know where I am, even though I'm still invislble. How does the Stealthboy work? How long can you stay invisible?

The way I view a stealthboy is that it doesn't make me completely invisible but just very very hard to detect (higher sneak skill alongside the stealthboy = harder still to detect). I always use it in sneak mode as well even though the 3rd person view is showing the invisibility effect when I don't crouch.

This is perfect for sneaking arround hostiles and looting stuff, and it's quite common to go in and out of enemy locations without being detected. However, this all changes when combat occurs. If you don't one shot kill the target then they usually either spot you or come looking, if 1 spots you the other localised hostiles will also be able to detect you.

All is not lost though, you still have a good 'stealth field'' while the stealthboy is still running . Often once detected you can just quickly back off arround a few corners go back into sneak mode and wait and you'll become 'Hidden' again.

I don't know how long the stealthboys last but don't get caught sneaking arround those deathclaws when it does run out!

Also, consider that once one enemy detects you, he alerts all the others who start really looking and then they see your shimmering `cloaked` effect. When the AI uses it you can actually see him if you look carefully. Think of a stealth boy as `wrapping` light around you and reflecting your surroundings a bit like the Predator in the movies. If you don`t expect it you don`t see it, but if you know what to look for then you `see` it.

Also, they find it harder to hit you even when they can see you as long as you`re cloaked because you are still hard to see clearly.

Even if you were completely invisible, the Deathclaw (and others) can hear you, right?

Also if you're attacking the Deathclaw, it would feel where the attacks are coming from, right?

Most guns also make noise, which is directional.

You'll have much better success if you are crouched/sneaking, and if you use silent weapons (silenced 10mm pistol, dart gun, melee and unarmed weapons for example)
