I just wanted to know how you can do this slit throat animation? I dual wield daggers and I was wondering if I held both triggers to do a dual wield power attack will it perform an animated throat cut animation? Or do I have to hold down the right hand blade only? Or do I not even hold the button and just slice them?

I just want to know how it can activate the animation thanks

Seems to happen for me when I perform a right hand only power attack, with a dagger, while crouching behind the enemy undetected. Doesn't matter what's in my left hand.

It’s supposed to be random but I’ve sort of figured a way to do it almost 90% of the time. I sneak up behind someone and stand still for about 3 seconds then simply attack. Most of the time I get the cut throat animation.

i did a lot of testing on this when i was bored. saved a file while standing behind a guy and reloaded to see what happens with different effect.

anyways

It will only activate if you attack with the RIGHT hand weapon ONLY(think dagger only aswell). normal or power attack doesnt matter(cos the animation only plays when your damage is enough to kill the guy anyways) but power attack will do twice the damage obviously.
attacking with the left hand will just kill him normally. same with attacking with both weapon. btw sneak power attack with both daggers pretty much 1-hit-kos anything.

And it seems that it doesnt matter where your standing. as long as you can pull off a sneak attack. i say this because of the shadow warrior perk at 100 sneak. and invisibility.

and it seems to only work on LIVING humanoid enemies only.

So if you want the animation you only need 1 dagger on your right hand.

TBH its more than enough when you got 15x perk + shrouded hand wraps or gloves or ciceros

It will work everytime.

unless your on stairs or something then it sometimes wont work.

yeah, if you're within a certain distance it helps, I sometimes perfer to start the attack early and get within range as I hit them if they are walking

Every kill i do has that animation! EVERY KILL!
Ok not really but i did count once, 27 kills in a row with that animation and 2 without afterwards, then i stopped counting again after 14....

So 27 - 2 - 14+

Sneak behind them and press M1, done!
Oh yeah get the 15x dagger dmg for sneak attacks, since the animations pops up when you crit someone.

It's random i think... you got to be behind the enemies though

Btw.. if you upgrade the blade of woe so it does 53 damage and then get the 15x damage sneak perk + the jesters gloves wich gives 2x damage that will become 53 x 30 wich is equal to 1590 damage!! It's [censored] insane!

also, I get the animation with one handed swords too

Question: Does this only work on standing enemies? I recall reading that somewhere. Or does it also work on sitting enemies?

Having cut plenty of throats in my time, I shall answer!

It only works on enemies who are standing or walking slowly. Any other animation such as using an alchemy table, cooking, or sitting down will result in a double damage backslash. You also have to be completely undetected. If all of these are true, you'll get a throat slash almost 100% of the time. It doesn't matter how powerful your swing is, but a light tap actually is better so that the game doesn't think you're attempting a power attack. Also, you have to be powerful enough to kill the enemy in one hit, otherwise you'll just take a large chunk of their health with a critical backslash. x15 and x2 perks help with this.

You have to be undetected and sneaking, it has to be a right-handed attack. It does not need to be a power attack.

I've cleared entire camps of bandits via cutting everyones throat.

If you want to slit the throat of someone sleeping on a bedroll, pop out of stealth, activate the "talk" option (you can mentally insert some kind of "Pst, time to die" line if you so choose), then pop back into stealth. Wait until the "getting up" animation is completely stopped, then bring your knife to their throat!
